Easy install, but handle feels fragile

Ed

Our old screen door handle broke. The classic one with the push button at the top to unlatch it. Decided to splurge on this model and so far it's been well worth it. Installation was pretty easy. Tools used: - Hacksaw and vise to cut inner pin down to size. - Drill for new holes for latch plate. As for the handle, I do have concerns about people yanking on it too hard and breaking it. But it has been a huge help as we use our screen doors all the time and this is way easier to open when you're carrying stuff at the same time.

This appears to be a quality product, but was returned

LED away

This appears to be a quality product, but was returned because it didn't;t really fit the application I needed. It is designed to fit doors with various thicknesses, but requires the user to cut off the actuating pin to the length needed for the door. Cutting then pin to size will require a vise and hack saw or small rotary cut-off saw. The pin itself is clearly marked for where to cut, and instructions are straightforward. Overall, this looks like a good product and should work well.

Simple, inexpensive, efficient

Goblin

I needed the simplest, least complicated one. This one turned out to be the right choice. Install was a breeze, they work, have not changed appearance throughout the last two winters, they work as expected, they can be locked, and they look decent. All good in my book.

Loving the new handle style

Kevin

Bought this one because the style that matched my existing handle (which broke off) was only available in white I wanted it in black. It looks great and we actually like how it works so much more. Now I need to replace the handle on the other door to match this one.

Great look, but too thick for my door

Jocelyn

I like the way this handle looks and functions, seems like pretty good quality for the price. Ultimately I could not use it on my door because it is too thick (2"). I should have read the description closer.

This is a nice replacement latch for a storm door

NiseyK

This is a nice replacement latch for a storm door. After checking all parts provided, it can be installed with little trouble. No instructions are provided. When properly installed it works as expected.

Stylish handle, needs a little tweaking

MARY

It didn't close right with my door, but my neighbor was able to fix the problem. I would recommend this door handle. It's working well and I like the look.

I like the design

JwMike1344

I like the design. However, I had to drill bigger holes in order to get it to work due the design of Storm Door. I got it to work and I'm satisfied

The handle and latch were easy to replace and fit

Michael

The handle and latch were easy to replace and fit the door well. In my situation I could have used one more shim for the latch to properly catch.

Not a good buy

KattyDidd

Worst purchase ever. I would not recommend this style latch. I had replaced the original latch on the storm door with a Bayfield VBA213, very nice latch and only took me 20 minutes install, however it wore out and needed replacing. Times being what they are I opted for a less expensive model. Huge mistake! What should have only been a 15 or 20 minute job ended up taking me hours. The spindle kept falling off when I was trying to install, you need a hacksaw to cut the spindle to length, not everyone has a hacksaw. The lock is smaller or something because it sets way back from the door edge of the door compared to the old VBA213 latch, same install holes for original latch, VBA213 and this new one VIL333. Then once everything was installed for some reason the latch wouldn't collapse when it hit the strike plate. I had it lined up to hit dead center of strike plate, didn't work, no matter where I moved it, it didn't work. I had to take out the spacer under the strike plate and the latch collapses now to close the door, however it only has a very very small section , maybe 1/8 inch of the latch to keep it from blowing open. Would definitely not recommend this latch.
