New Chicco KeyFit 30 Cleartex Infant Car Seat (Slate)

No regrets with this car seat. Great product that gives a parent peace of mind. It looks good as well. My only regret is that I cannot see into the future. I ordered the car seat on 2/5/26, and 3 days later I got an email from Chicco offering a free stroller base for the same car seat purchase. Of course one of the promo exceptions was that it didn’t apply to previous purchases. A small thing, that isn’t a huge deal, but it is the first thing that I associate with the company name now.

I have the 35 and bought the 30 for our 2nd car since the 35 was sold out. It’s a perfectly fine seat and glad it fits also into the other car seat base, but was very thrown off by how much lower quality the material is and especially the hood, vs. the 35.

Love everything about this car seat with exception of one thing. The only negative I would give is the brand logo inside the car seat where baby sits is raised (looks like a thin rough fabric patch that’s affixed by heat? So can’t remove) and now that my baby has grown, it’s right behind the back of her head and rubs her skin raw and scratches her when she moves her head repeatedly around while in it. So I bought a generic fitted liner on Amazon. The fitted liner is about $20-$30. Definitely worth buying the liner once your baby outgrows the infant insert and sits up taller in this car seat.

Sunshade is horrible

The car seat itself was good. But I would not recommend buying any product directly from Chicco. My husband and I accidentally both ordered a car seat for our next child. Which is completely our fault. So we ended up with 2 of the exact same seat. We already had additional bases and I just couldn’t think of a reason to keep a second seat. To return a product to Chicco you have to contact them to get return approval and a number which was kind of a pain. You then have to pay for return shipping. Which for the car seat we bought was $68. I like Chicco products. We had a chicco seat for our prior kids and our toddler is in a chicco nextfit seat. But buy through Target or Walmart ect where you can return a product if you end up not needing/being gifted something. The price is the same and you can just return to store or get a return label through the company. We ended up getting 2 seats with our first and just took one to target and it was much easier and we didn’t end up with a $70 loss.

The car seat seems to be great quality. I am very disappointed with the return policy, however. I did not realize that this car seat came with a base, and when I tried to return the additional base I had purchased, I was required to pay shipping. This set me back another $22 from the purchase price. I tried to buy through Chicco instead of a second party, but I will not do so again.

Please be warned that this carseat has manufactured defective parts. We were proud of Chicco keyfit 30 for many years and generation. We are sad to have a keyfit 30 rubber handle melt and become very sticky.

This system has been great with our baby. The fabric is soft and I'm thankful it can be washed. I only wish my giant baby wasn't so big so she could use it longer!

Excellent car seat for preemies

I have a base in my car, my husband has one for his and we just bought a 3rd base for my MIL who is watching little one during the day. It's been so easy for all three of us to navigate travel with our little one whether it be by car or stroller. We are so pleased with how secure and easy it's been while using the KeyFit 30 ClearTex Infant Car Seat. My little one hates the sun so the canopy extension has been a blessing! This is a great, quality car seat system.

This is the easiest car seat to operate after having 3 different ones for 5 different children. I only wish I had it for all 5! My baby even slept through a fender bender in it!

I have been using this car seat for several months now and absolutely love it! It is a great neutral color and easy to get in and out of the car using the safety latches.

I am very pleased with the KeyFit system. The seat easily clicks in and out of my car. We have an additional base in my husband’s car which makes switching cars a breeze. The system also clicks into the stroller, which is convenient. The canopy is also great on sunny days!

I bought this car seat to transport my grandson. I am 62 years old and my fingers are not as pliable as they used to be! I found the installation of the car seat in my SUV to be an easy, seamless process. The reason why I give this car seat 5 stars, though, is the ease of use. My grandson can easily get in and out. The buckling in process is a snap! I have tried various other car seats and some were incredibly difficult to operate. This one is by far the easiest to use!

We have purchased other car seats and boosters for my older daughter, and there is no competition to Chicco products being the safest. The car seat was easy to install, lightweight and super easy to move from car to stroller. I also like how my younger daughter can grow with the car seat as the padding is removable (and easy to wash).

Our little guy looks comfy and secure in this thing. Install is super easy, and you can quickly swap it between vehicles if needed. It’s light too. We’re happy!

This seat is very simple to install. The seat is lightweight and easy to get in and out of the car. The canopy is a wonderful feature for naps during older brother soccer games. Would recommend to a friend or family member!

This car seat is perfect. It is an easy latch in and out. Lightweight. All of the fabrics are removed easily for washing. Definitely recommend.

This car seat is safe and easy to use. The keyfit flexibility makes switching between vehicles so easy making daycare pickup/drops way less complicated with grandparents being able to have extra bases. Using other chicco products, I’ve come to trust them and they keep exceeding expectations.

This car seat is easily clicked in and out of the base, and into the stroller base. And it’s lightweight. This is INCREDIBLY helpful when taking multiple kids in and out of the car frequently. And who doesn’t love helpful?! I would recommend this seat for any parent with an infant.

This KeyFit model has been a longtime favorite of mine with all 3 kids. It is easy & intuitive to install and doesn’t jiggle around AT ALL like other brands. I assumed it would be a heavier seat since it has such a secure latch…but I found it comfortable to carry. I had very large babies and the seat accommodated their size very well. The material cleans well and doesn’t smell up the car at all like other seats. I also like the compatibility with many stroller adapters. Definitely well worth the price tag!

I've heard so much about the great safety feature of Chicco, easy installation of their products and high end quality. This car seat 100% lives up to those statements and then some. Being first time parents and new to car seat installation, this seat was extremely easy to install. We highly recommend this product, and look forward to using more Chicco products in the future.

This seat was super easy to install (which is a plus for some like me!) and super easy to clean. I love the Greenguard Gold certification, too. I feel at ease that my little guy is secure and safe and would recommend to anyone needing a seat!

We love our Keyfit 30 Infant car seat. The installation is extremely easy. With the click in system moving the baby from the car to our stroller is a breeze. This is a well designed product we would recommend.

If you are looking for a great infant car seat, look no further! This seat is very light and manageable when trying to travel with a newborn. The pad comes out and is machine washable for easy cleanups. Bonus- comes in a nice glacier color!

We love Chicco car seats, we’ve used them for all 3 of our children. They are a reasonable price, durable, and easy to use. We put bases in our cars as well as our kids’ grandparents cars for ease of ability to transport our kids. This car seat worked great for our newest addition.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this car seat. The base was easy to install and I could quickly tell that I installed it correctly by looking at the levels. The car seat clicks in and out of the base quickly and easily clicks into my stroller. My daughter loves it, and feels sung and comfortable in the newborn insert. I love that it is removable so she can grow with the car seat up to 30lbs or 30 inches. It’s easy to carry and I really love the sleek design. Love love love it!

I’ve had several brands of car seats and this is the best! It is so simple to install, gets a tight fit, and super safe. It comes apart very easily to wash. It clicks right in to my chicco stroller as well as my mockingbird stroller. I have been super happy with all chicco products, you cant go wrong!

I am a first time mom and was very worried about purchasing a car seat. I got the travel system and I love everything about it. The car seat has amazing reviews and I feel safe with it. I recommended it to my other friend and she loves it too. I recently took the fabric off to wash it and was very easily able to put it back on. I would buy again for my any future kids.

We got to bring our little bundle of joy home today in this amazing car seat. This seat is very light weight and easy to manage. I love the straps on this car seat. Fit very perfect, nice and snug around our new baby. The material and color our great for a boy. The base was the easiest base I’ve ever installed in my life. Just popped them out of the base and right into the car. Once you tighten the straps and checked the level gauge I couldn’t get it to budge. Amazing! Car seat snapped in and out very easily. We are so happy we went with this car seat. Thank you Chicco for making us feel safe and secure.

Car seat shopping can be overwhelming, especially for first time parents. Safety was first and foremost on our list of must haves. Followed by compatibility with a stroller, ease of installation and use, and lastly style. The KeyFit 30 ClearTex checked all of those boxes for us. The leveling and latch system for installation was amazing for first time users! We appreciate Chiccos attention to detail in safety and this product being Greenguard Gold Certified was an added bonus. The fabrics used are not only safe and comfortable but the colors are great.

We are huge fans of this car seat. I don’t think there is easier installation out there. The SuperCinch strap makes sure the base is snug; the leveling foot worked with an easy push; and the leveler bubble let us know right when the base was in perfect position. The seat itself snaps right in and feels super secure, giving us all the confidence in the world when we have to drive our new guy around. We love the compatibility with the strollers; you hear the click, and you know it’s secure. We love that versatility to be able to go from the car to the stroller all while not disrupting our little guy. The materials are so soft so he can sit in there comfortably for long drives. Added bonus is the ClearTex material that is chemical free and GREENGUARD Gold certified which just makes you feel better that he is breathing healthier air. We are overjoyed with this car seat.

This is the best infant car seat. It is easy to install and use. I have bases in a small sedan and large SUV. I have installed via latch and seatbelt. I can easily get a sug fit either way. Adjusting the harness the position, placing baby in the seat, securing the harness, and removing baby are all very easy to manage. The carseat is lightweight, the handle bar and sunshade are also adjustable. I particularly like the ClearTex fabric that is very gental and the infant insert is so plush. It is a great product.
