OCR: CAREX. Caring for you. 5-STEP GUIDE FOR CHOOSING THE RIGHT TOILET SEAT RISER. TOILET SEAT TYPE. Identify your toilet seat shape - round or elongated. Note: For the easiest confirmation, check your toilet's brand and model. WEIGHT CAPACITY. Make sure the raised toilet seat safely supports the user's weight. Most models support 250-500 lbs. For higher needs, consider a bariatric option. Always check the weight capacity before purchasing. HEIGHT. Raised toilet seats range from 2.5" to 5" of height. The right height depends on the user's strength, balance, and body height - those with greater difficulty may need a higher rise. HANDLES OR NO HANDLES. Consider whether handles are needed. Raised toilet seats with handles provide extra support when sitting and standing. They're a good choice for users with limited strength or balance concerns. SECURE INSTALLATION. Choose a tool-free, locking, or bolt-on design for your specific stability needs. Note: Toilet seats and lids are not included with purchase, your existing seat and lid are to be used. Raised Toilet Seat
The seat does not fit the toilet correctly. It is round and my seat is oval. This was not explained in the advertisement. I am hoping to return the seat and get my money back.
Elongated hinged toilet riser seat.
I don't know how I ever did without my riser seat. Now I should have handrails to fit on it. I am using a walker to hold onto when I get up off
Great product
Great product, good price. Fulfills a vital need. Hinge allows for access to clean.
Service failure
I find it absurd that Carex does not offer replacement parts for their toilet seat risers(bolts and wing nuts)Knowing what moisture will do metal over time. Great disappointment!!!
Cannot secure to toilet
The poor design results in movement even after the bolts are tightened. This product should be discontinued
Great Features, Great Product!
I received this yesterday, to replace a different seat riser I have had for 12 years. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this one is more sturdy and a tad bit taller than the one I had. Being hinged makes it so much easier to clean. The one I had before you had to remove to clean.
I have had my leg cut by the razor sharp corners located on front hold down where you tighten the seat in place. this could be eliminated by rounding off these sharp edges.I purchased this riser seat for 45 dollars and it now on sale for 20$

Carex EZ Lock with handles: easy install but seat fit is a potential issue
Although there were no directions in the box my wife had no problems installing it in a few minutes. It screws down securely to the round-style toilet bowl and the handles easily adjusted to the correct width. My mother was pleased with the solution. ... I purchased this one because it would work on either one of my toilets, one elongated and one standard. There was no way to get it to seat properly and trying to use the arm handles to stand up. I almost fell and injured myself because it was so unsteady. It came loose from the toilet.

Hip replacement discussion: raised seat necessity and Carex discomfort
I thought this would be the answer but it wasn't. It was uncomfortable to sit on and to get off of. I think the correct answer would be to install a new toilet that is taller from Home Depot. ... Didn't work well on newer toilet.

Raised toilet seat essential after hip replacement, Carex mentioned
Yes, it's very necessary. You want to avoid bending at the hip more than 90 degrees and the height helps with sitting and standing. Carex is a good brand to look at.
