It's hit and miss to be honest, and it's a pricey hit and miss so I'd recommend secondhand... My first hated it... My little guy now doesn't mind it... We're having some well known mechanical issues with it though and I'm not super impressed considering the price. ... I don't know what we would do without ours, little man sleeps in it during the day... It is definitely pricey, but well worth it for us! ... I love it and my first love it too... It's nice a simple and easy to move around. The only thing is that it doesn't swing as fast as a swing but it was enough for us.

Pros: - space saver - good for colic (so I've been told) - can be used with an iPod Cons: - limited use (I found a baby swing had much longer longevity, an older baby just can't fit on a mamaroo safely) - price - can only be used on the floor, not on a table - my son would never sleep in one, but would in a swing ... Overall, I was much happier with my Fisher-Price Snugabunny swing. ... We loved ours but our con was it only works by outlet ...so we could only use it in very limited places in our house. ... I will have a mamaroo for all of kids for sure we love it....and the I pad option is fantastic. Love all the different movements it does too.

Lifesaver for some, useless for others; secondhand recommended
My LO loved it. It was a lifesaver when she was a newborn/infant with colic/reflux. We went through a phase where it was the ONLY place she would sleep. I bought mine used for like $100 and sold it for $80 when we were done so it was well worth it. It's definitely dependent on the baby though.
