Reddit Insights
4 threads · r/BabyLedWeaning, r/toddlers, r/moderatelygranolamomsThe Tommee Tippee weighted straw cup is polarizing: parents love its ease of use and design for teaching straw drinking, but many report persistent leaking from the lid and straw, along with difficulties in cleaning mold-prone parts.
Positive mentions about helping babies learn to use a straw and ease of use are offset by frequent complaints about leaking, mold buildup in the valve/straw, and the straw not staying in place.

Parents share experiences with Tommee Tippee cup for baby-led weaning
We used the Tommee Tippee weighted straw cup and it was great for teaching her to drink from a straw. But it leaked constantly, even when we tightened the lid all the way. And after a few weeks, mold started growing in the valve even though we washed it after every use. We had to toss it.

Rant about Tommee Tippee weighted straw cups leaking and straw issues
These cups SUCK. I bought a 2 pack and both leak from the lid no matter what I do. The straw also keeps popping out and my toddler gets frustrated. I spent more time picking it up than him drinking from it. Dr. Brown's ones are even worse though, so I guess these are ok if you have no other option.

Recommendation thread where Tommee Tippee is suggested as a moderately granola option
I try to avoid plastic, but these Tommee Tippee cups have been great for my 10 month old. She can hold the handles easily and the weighted straw means she can drink even when the cup is tilted. I do wish they made a stainless steel version though.

Parent transitioning from Munchkin cup to Tommee Tippee but encountering leaks
I got the Tommee Tippee 10oz 2 pack in pink/purple because the Munchkin any angle cups leaked SO BAD. These are better but still leak from the lid if you shake them. My baby figured out the straw in a day though, and they don't leak as much as Munchkin. Still looking for a truly leakproof cup.
