Does not lock into place
I received this product to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Unfortunately, I cannot for the life of me get this bassinet to work. My husband and I both tried extensively but could never get it to latch into place- either it needs an insanely strong person or maybe we received a faulty product. Either way, we were never able to put the baby inside because we couldn’t attach the latch to lock it into place. It looks like a cute product that we would have used inside and out, but it just didn’t work for us.
Handy and portable
I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. When I first set up the travel bassinet it was a little difficult to get it to latch and stay open, once I did that it got easier. It's very simple to set up and take down without needing instructions. We have a 4 year old, a 2.5 year old, and a 2 month old and while this would be perfect with the sun shade for outdoors this summer(which we will be using), it was also handy for indoors to keep the older boys from stepping on the baby while playing and he still was able to be on the floor! It was large enough that our son had room to stretch out but small enough that it's easily portable and lightweight enough to bring when you travel without it being annoying. We brought it to Easter with my family and worked beautifully to keep the dogs away and still allow our baby to play independently! My only negative is that I, personally, don't love bold colors. I like more muted tones that don't stand out so the color wasn't a plus for me.
Brilliant Little Bassinet
A huge thank you to Stellar Product Testing Panel for allowing me to test this bassinet with our newest addition! We just had our last baby a few weeks ago and we also just moved from the Northeast down South. For us this means so many more hours outside and this bassinet is our newest sidekick. I can bring this outside and have it set up in under a minute. It provides great shade for our little princess and the fine mesh sides allow the breeze to sweep through while keeping creepy crawlies out. This is so compact it's easy to keep anywhere and the kids don't mind hauling it to and fro when we take it on the go. While the canopy does expand to full coverage from the sun it does not have a zip or button closure so it can be vulnerable to flying bugs if used outside. I have found that I can put a play mat inside so that hanging toys can provide the baby with visual stimulation. This is a great addition to our baby gear line up and by far one of my favorites.
Great for outside and inside use
This bassinet shocked me from the moment I opened up the small box it came in. I knew that it was portable but I was not expecting it to be so compact! Having the bassinet be compact was immediately one of my favorite things; having four kids to back up and take somewhere uses up a lot of room, so having a small bassinet helps reduce the amount of space needed when vacationing with a baby. The next thing that I really liked about the bassinet included it being lightweight (my three-year-old can carry it without difficulty). Having your hands full with a baby and toddler means things need to be easy and quick to set up and this bassinet provides both – it is very easy to set up with one hand and it is also extremely quick to set up. With summer quickly approaching I am excited about the full coverage canopy that this bassinet uses; I will be able to take it outside and ensure that my little one is fully protected from the sun! The last two items really brought me peace of mind as a mom. The bassinet has mesh sides for safety and a soft bottom so that it provides comfort for my little one while she sleeps. So far I have only been able to use the bassinet inside thanks to the eternal winter we have had this season but I am extremely excited to take this bassinet to the park or pool this summer! With all products, there are always pros and cons. Overall my husband and I really like the Graco Travel Lite Portable Bassinet but there are a few things that we are a bit disappointed about. The first is the storage spot for the canopy; there is a pouch on the outside of the carry case that is meant to hold the canopy when traveling, unfortunately, it does not fully store the canopy and it makes carrying the bassinet a bit more awkward. The bassinet is only good for maybe the first year of life, or up to 20 pounds; I would love to see the size increased just a little more to allow a longer use time for such a good product. The final thing that we didn’t like was that the canopy doesn’t “lock” in place on top of the bassinet which makes it easy for little hands to pull the canopy off of the bassinet. It would be great to have a locking mechanism with an easy release to ensure that the canopy stays secure while in use. I was given this bassinet to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.
Lifesaver
I received this bassinet from the Stellar Product Testing Panel just in the serendipitous nick of time! My husband and I were about to take our three-month old baby, Charlie, or her first road trip. We were taking her to a family wedding, and we were totally stressed out about what to pack, how to pack it, and all the logistics of having such a young baby do an overnight stay away from home. The Graco Travel Lite Portable Bassinet was a godsend. It took up almost no room in the back of our car, and it gave us a portable and comfortable place for our baby to sleep away from home. I was glad that we figured out how to do setup and takedown prior to doing the road trip, though, because I think either the instructions left out a step or we didn’t read them correctly. In order to fully extend the bassinet and snap it into place using the gray latch, we needed to unsnap a couple of the top snaps that keep the fabric around the top of the bassinet in place. It was easy to re-fasten those snaps afterwards, and I’m glad we didn’t end up breaking it through our initial efforts. All in all, I have loved having this bassinet in my repertoire of baby-comfort and transport items. The bassinet is compact and is easy to store, as I always just keep it with my stroller so that I know where it is, and it is easily accessible. It has been especially useful going into spring. I was worried about having the time to clear out my garden, and being able to keep the baby near me, in view and in a safe place, made the whole experience possible. Also, she loved being able to be outside and feel the wind on her face for the first time. I would not have been able to create that experience for her without this bassinet, and it has been one of my favorite ever experiences with my baby. This is a sound investment for any parent who wants to be able to more easily incorporate having an infant into their everyday life.
Convenient for travel indoors or outdoors
I really like how small and lightweight this bassinet is. I’m using it for a safe sleep space for naps at grandparents house when we are there. It would work great outside also. It’s easy to set up and take down and not too heavy for me to carry back and forth to the car. I like that the materials are machine washable, I think every baby item should be! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bassinet.
Great travel option
This travel lite bassinet is perfect for on the go, outside, or even just to move around the house. The compact size makes it easy to toss in the car or just move from one room to another as needed. It does take some muscle to lock it when opening it, but other than that, set up is a breeze. The padded bottom makes it usable on any surface - whether it's the deck by the pool, a driveway while the older kids play, or a carpet floor inside. The sun shade makes it perfect for any weather too. And since it's a safe sleep space, it's a double win and takes up much less room than a pack n play. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this bassinet.
Good for travel and vacation
When first holding the bassinet in the bag you are surprised by how big it is and yet how light it is. It is fairly large and I wouldn't recommend carrying around for long distances. The bassinet comes in a couple different pieces, bag, bassinet, suncover, and connector pieces. The instructions were not exactly clear and to set it up for the first time was difficult not only in understanding what to do but physically pushing different parts to snap in. Although difficult, it gave me a level of confidence that it was well built and safe for my child. It is a nice size for 2-3 babies playing. The best part of this bassinet is the sun cover which can cover essentially the entire bassinet. I used this bassinet to travel to someone's home who does not have any babies. It was nice to have and not worry about him getting into anything. I received this product as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a travel bassinet.

In real use, how long does it typically take to set up and fold the Graco Travel Lite (for first-time users vs. experienced users)?
We design the Travel Lite with a one-step setup and standing fold so experienced users can open or fold it in roughly 10–30 seconds (often well under a minute). First-time users typically take about 1–3 minutes while they learn the latch and canopy positioning; most customers report getting much faster after a couple of tries, though a small minority had trouble with the latch on first use.

Do reviewers report problems with the folding/locking mechanism or with stability once the bassinet is assembled?
Most reviewers did not report stability problems or widespread folding/locking failures. One 1‑star reviewer said they could not get the latch to lock at all, and one 4‑star reviewer said it was tricky to latch at first but worked fine after a couple of tries; no other reviewers reported instability once assembled.

Is this bassinet certified to current infant-bassinet safety standards (JPMA or ASTM), and is it approved for unsupervised overnight sleep?
We do not show JPMA or ASTM certification for the Graco Travel Lite Portable Bassinet on the product page, and the downloadable instruction sheet also does not list a JPMA/ASTM certification (this model is rated for infants up to 20 lb). [1][2] Graco’s product materials likewise do not state that this standalone travel bassinet is approved for unsupervised overnight sleep — treat it as a portable/supervised sleep or nap option and follow the manual’s weight and usage guidance. [2]

What are the bassinet’s folded dimensions (height × width × depth) and does the folded carry size reliably fit inside typical stroller baskets or airline overhead bins?
The listed (open) product size is 30.75 in (W) × 34.75 in (H) × 26.75 in (D) and the bassinet weighs 4.7 lb; Graco does not publish a numeric “folded” height×width×depth on the product page or manual. Graco does advertise a one‑step standing fold that’s “super‑compact” and “small enough to fit in your stroller basket” and the unit comes with a travel bag for carrying. We cannot guarantee it will fit an airline overhead bin—most U.S. carriers use a 22 × 14 × 9 in (L×W×H) carry‑on guideline—so please measure the bassinet in its folded/stored position (or test it in your stroller basket) before relying on it as an overhead‑bin carry item. How thick and firm is the integrated padded floor (mattress)? Is it removable/washable, and does it meet the firm, flat sleep surface recommended for safe infant sleep?
We include an integrated padded floor (the mattress/pad supplied with the unit) that Graco designs as a firm, solid‑base pad less than 1 inch thick so it sits flat and helps meet safe‑sleep spacing requirements when the bassinet is assembled per instructions. The cover/fabrics are removable and listed as machine‑washable on the product page; follow the owner’s manual instructions for installing the mattress/pad and cleaning. Use only the mattress/pad provided and do not add extra padding, pillows, or thicker mattresses. [1][2]

For this used listing: are all original parts and accessories included (travel bag with shoulder strap, canopy, canopy pole/attachments, any manuals), and are there any visible signs of wear, stains, or repairs?
We include the travel bag with shoulder strap and the removable UV50 domed canopy (with its attachment hardware) with this Graco Travel Lite Portable Bassinet. The listing notes it was a floor/display model and has very light scuffs; there are no visible stains or signs of repairs. An instruction manual is not included in the listing.

If replacement parts are needed (canopy, fabric cover, mattress pad), are replacement parts available from Graco and what are the part numbers or ordering options?
We can order replacement parts through Graco’s Parts portal, but availability is model- and manufacture-date dependent — enter your Travel Lite model number (2184648) and the manufacture date from the sticker to see what’s sold separately. Graco’s parts site does list individual items (for example a canopy item on the parts page) but may also show “Replacement Parts Are Not Available” for some models; if you don’t see the part you need you can request help or place an order by calling Graco Consumer Care at 1‑800‑345‑4109 or via Graco’s replacement-parts page.

Is the 'UV50' canopy certified to UPF 50 (testing/certification), and how much sun coverage does it provide in typical outdoor positions?
Graco advertises the bassinet with a “removable UV 50” domed canopy, but Graco’s product page and the included instruction sheet do not state an independent UPF 50 test or certification. [1][2] The domed canopy rotates and expands to give strong overhead/upper‑body shade in typical outdoor positions (fully expanded it provides near‑complete top coverage), but the mesh sides remain breathable and will not block low‑angle sun or reflected UV—orient the canopy toward the sun and use extra shade for prolonged exposure.

How fine is the mesh on the sides — does it block small insects like mosquitoes while still allowing good airflow and visibility?
We use an airy, fine-knit mesh on the Graco Travel Lite Portable Bassinet that’s designed for visibility and good airflow; testers specifically reported the mesh allowed the breeze through while keeping “creepy crawlies” out. Graco does not publish a mesh micron rating and this isn’t marketed as certified insect netting, so we can’t guarantee 100% protection from the smallest insects (like midges) in heavy-bug conditions — for those situations we recommend using an additional insect net or keeping the bassinet in a screened/shaded area.
