Reddit Insights
5 threads · r/pregnant, r/BuyingforbabyParents generally view the Maxi-Cosi Cassia as a stylish, space-saving swing with useful features like 360-degree rotation and motion activation, but question its high price compared to simpler alternatives and note that some babies may reject swings altogether.
Positive comments highlight design, compactness, and motion detection; negative sentiment focuses on cost and the risk that the baby won't like it. Overall slightly positive but cautious.

Watch Out For
Community Q&A
- Is the Maxi-Cosi Cassia worth the high price?
- Depends on your budget and priorities; many parents suggest looking for sales or second-hand options, as swings are used for only a few months and babies may not take to them.
- Does the Cassia actually help soothe babies?
- It has features like motion detection and various speeds that can help, but every baby is different; some love it, others don't.
Compared To
vs BabyBjörn bouncer
Bouncer is often preferred over the Cassia swing because it's lighter, more portable, and has a higher success rate for soothing. Many parents consider it a safer splurge.
vs Graco swing
Graco swings are cheaper and similarly effective, but some parents view the Cassia as a more premium, aesthetically pleasing option.
vs Mamaroo
Cassia is preferred over Mamaroo for its rotating seat and lighter frame, making it easier to reposition in a small space.

Discussion on swings vs. bouncers and wariness of spending on swings
I'm not buying a swing, I don't want them to fall asleep in one... I briefly entertained the idea of buying a swing but I decided against it because of their limited use and babies don't know they cost $300, they would enjoy a $50 one just as much. And the most comfy place to them is in our arms, not a swing.

Preference for Cassia swing for its small footprint and rotation
I got the maxi-cosi cassia swing. I liked the style and the small footprint (I have 2 older dogs, plus all the other baby stuff, so I'm trying to save floor space) and that the seat rotates.

Positive review of Cassia swing for motion activation and rotation
We have the Cassia and our son enjoyed it! It was nice that I could turn him to face wherever I was, and the motion activation was really responsive to him moving and getting fussy. I bought mine on sale at indigo and it was worth the $230 I spent.

Recommendation for Maxi-Cosi or Graco swings based on footprint
Maxi Cosi Cassia or Graco Sense2Soothe were the two I was between and the Maxi Cosi was cheaper used in my area, so that's what I got. We'll see if baby likes it! She's due in Jan.

Comparison of Cassia to Graco and emphasis on baby's preference
We first got the Graco swing but has a huge footprint. We swapped for the maxi-cosi cassia. Both swings did a good job with our LO BUT my baby preferred the swing at daycare that had the front to back swinging motion vs side to side. We ended up not using it at all.
