Community Q&A
- Is the Ellaris easy to install?
- Installation is mixed; some find it easy with the hook-style LATCH, while others struggle with tightening. Consider having a CPST check installation.
- Is the Ellaris comfortable for long trips?
- It lacks plush padding, so it may not be as comfortable for longer rides, but is generally fine for short trips and travel use.

Car seats.. do we like safety 1st all in one?
I’ve been looking at lightweight seats because I switch cars. The Safety 1st Grow and Go is a beast to install. But the Ellaris is way lighter. I’m considering it for travel. It’s not plush but gets the job done. The harness is a pain to tighten though.

Baby Trend Trooper vs Safety 1st Ellaris for travel
Between the Trooper and the Ellaris, I’d go Ellaris. It’s wider so fits bigger kids longer, and the install is easier with the hook LATCH. Both are lightweight. The Ellaris is 12 lbs. Great for the airport. My 3-year-old fits well and it’s easy to tighten in the car.

Swivel carseat recommendations? Safety 1st or another?
I have the Safety 1st Turn and Go, not the Ellaris. The swivel feature is nice but it’s heavy. For a lightweight option, I heard the Ellaris is good but very basic. No swivel, but it’s slim and can fit three across.
