I read reviews that the safety first one has a very bright blue/UV light that fills the room. I’m hoping they come out with a redesign soon. ... I have a very basic Safety First humidifier that I do NOT recommend getting. It leaks. There seems to be no way to actually clean it so it has hard water stains on the inside that I can’t get rid of. ... The first one we had was safety first and it broke after only a few uses. The dial broke so it was always on full blast and got the floor wet.

  • Discussion on Safety 1st humidifier catching fire; user says sparking was due to misuse

I know this post is old but I'd like to say Safety1st is usually very quick to recall due to any faults in their products. I've used their humidifiers since idk when, and the only one I've ever had in my entire life that sparked was due to user error. Major user error. I'm talking I was 8 and shook it and got the water everywhere. Also cleaning them is easy. You just remove the tank from the base and fill both respectively with lukewarm water and vinegar, let them sit for 30 minutes to 4 hours depending how bad it needed the clean, dump them and you're good.
