We have a super-wide opening to our kitchen and got the North States Toddleroo gate. It’s pressure-mounted, so no drilling, and it expands wide enough. One thing: these pressure gates are NOT for the top of stairs.

Affordable option but inconvenient to step over frequently
We went with the Toddleroo by North States one because it was cheap and easy to install. It works fine, but after a few weeks of stepping over it 20 times a day I kind of wish we'd gotten one with a door. For the price though, can't complain.
