Yes, if used on the floor with constant supervision and for short periods, but never on elevated surfaces.

  • Floor seats convenient but not for teaching sitting

I’d recommend just getting a Bumbo or similar (Nuby?) with a tray. We used it for feeding solids before she was ready for the high chair. It is NOT for 'teaching' sitting up — in fact, PT/OTs will tell you it can delay independent sitting if you use it too much. But for 10-15 min a day while you do dishes or prep food, they’re great. Just always on the floor, never on a counter.

  • Strict supervision required, not a seat to walk away from

We had the Fisher Price sit me up and loved it, but my baby almost tipped it over leaning to reach something. It’s not a seat you can walk away from, even for a second. Floor use only, obviously, but still, they can rock and topple. I’d only use it when I was right there on the floor with him. So it was more like 'I need to fold this laundry next to you' not 'I need to cook dinner while you’re in the other room.'

  • Nuby not explicitly featured; general advice against overuse

The Mama’s and Papa’s Snug is basically the same idea as the Nuby. Both are fine, but don’t rely on them as a babysitter. Babies need floor time to learn to sit. We used ours maybe 5 mins a day max, and only when we were right there. I’d say skip if you’re on the fence — they’re a luxury, not a necessity.

  • Nuby floor seat recommended for post-bouncer transition

We just got the Nuby floor seat with the activity tray after our LO outgrew the bouncer. Total game changer. He’s 5mo and loves being upright and playing with the tray toys. It’s way comfier than the Bumbo (softer foam, doesn’t squeeze his thighs). Just make sure you clip the tray on tightly — it can pop off if they pull up hard. And always supervise; he’s already trying to lean forward and I could see a tip risk if I wasn’t watching.
