It depends on the vehicle, but one of the most versatile combinations is 2 Chicco Keyfit 35/Keyfit Max infant seats (which are compatible with the vista!) and one Graco Slimfit3 LX for toddler. Not any other Slimfit- it has to be the Slimfit3 LX.

I was told the KeyFit 30 base can be used with KeyFit 35 carseat. As for the 35 base's load leg: 'it's meant to reduce the downward rotation of the seat in the event of a collision - transferring energy from the crash to the vehicle floor.' Easier to clean seat pad too.

Feedback on KeyFit 35 ClearTex fabric breathability
I just replaced our keyfit 35 cleartex infant seat. I loved the safety ratings, install and ease of use. Yet even in the mild PNW climate my baby was sweaty in that seat all the time! We got the Nuna pipa aire rx instead and it’s a huge improvement with merino wool and aerated mesh. Our seat was four years old so the expiration wasn’t the best thing to do (replaced with a gift card) but I understand this doesn’t work for everyone.
