Reddit Insights
4 threads · r/NewParents, r/BabyBumps, r/beyondthebumpReddit parents have mixed feelings: many appreciate the Fisher-Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat as a convenient short-term container, but physical therapists advise strict moderation due to potential developmental concerns.
While some parents and a few PTs approve moderate use, others warn that containers don't teach sitting and may delay development if overused; it's seen as a short-lived convenience.

PT sister approves Fisher Price Sit-Me-Up for moderate use
it’s the Fisher Price Sit-Me-Up Floor Seat. Approved by at least one real physical therapist for moderate use. Lol.

PT recommended for correct back/hip position with moderate use
This is the one that was recommended to me by a physical therapist for correct back/hip position and to encourage them learning to sit independently! Only for moderate use of course, no container is good for frequent use.

Physiotherapists say not the worst; use with a blanket to fix posture
I have the sit me up seat too. I’ve seen some physical therapists say it’s not the worst option. You can put a rolled up blanket under the seat to fix their posture. Mainly for appt’s to keep my crazy crawler contained for a few minutes.

Useful at 4 months but short lived; get second-hand
We started using ours around 4 months old. It was good, but super short lived. We had stopped using it by 5 months old, but he was sitting independently then, so it was no longer needed. I'd try to get one second hand.
