Great Knife.

I have always trusted Kershaw, I was gifted one of these (Payout) a little over a year ago. I use it lots for things out doors and around the house, the edge keeps well the Assisted opening is still smooth and I have had Zero issues with it. This is a beautiful knife that is both elegant and durable. It is my EDC and I highly recommend picking one up for yourself or a gift.

Almost 2 years and it's nothing but fire

โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…Toni

I've bought multiple knives usually cheap board walk or flea market knives not very good for everyday use and work decided to spend a little more money and bought this one never ever ever had a problem 2 years without sharpening and it still does its job if I sharpened it as if it were new it'd probably be insane never had an issue with anything falling apart or it being wobbly beautiful knife and very great now why I came here today is to see how I can service it myself ๐Ÿ˜ญ it's so well built I can't figure out how to take it apart ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Looks great, clip it sound,

Looks great, clip it sound, and it's good and sharp. Everything you want in a pocket knife.

EDC knife

After honing this blade for a few days it has taken on quite the edge and held it. No surprise give the D2 steel it is made from. It is not only a functional knife but very good looking and a very comfortable grip. As the blade pushes the grip back into your hand the crooked and of the grip really sinks into to pinky and help you maintain your grasp on the tool. Over all this is exactly what I was looking for in an EDC knife. I may find out later I would want to change a few things but as for now it's perfect for me.

  • General perception of Kershaw brand in knifeclub

Kershaw is a solid entry-level to mid-range brand. Good materials for the price, especially their D2 and assisted opening models like the Payout. Not the best fit and finish, but for the money they're hard to beat.

This is a great deal for D2 and assisted opening. The Payout feels sturdy and has a nice weight. Definitely a good pickup at this price.

  • General Kershaw quality discussion

Kershaw's steel choice has improved over the years. Their D2 holds an edge well, but I've had a couple with off-center blades. For the price, it's acceptable.

  • Is Kershaw a good brand?

Kershaw is great for the money. Their Speedsafe assist is smooth, and they often use D2 which is a solid budget steel. I'd put them above CRKT but below Civivi in terms of refinement.

  • Durability comparison Kershaw Blur vs Payout

The Blur is more robust, but the Payout is no slouch. I like the Payout's ergonomics and the D2 blade. It's a good big carry option.
