Watch Out For
Community Q&A
- Is the Summer Infant 3Dlite good for air travel?
- Yes, it's lightweight, folds quickly, and fits through airport crowds, though remove the cup holder when gate-checking as it may pop off.
- Can a taller parent comfortably push this stroller?
- Handles are not adjustable; shorter parents find it fine, but taller parents (6'2"+) may have to hunch.

Travel and Lightweight Use Endorsement
We had the 3-D summer infant lite, super cheaper and lightweight, umbrella stroller. Used it all across Italy and was great. Then upgraded to the GB pockit, slightly heavier, more expensive, but folds up and fits into the airplane as a carryon.
Mixed Feedback on Canopy and Ride
I bought the 3D lite in the spring when they were on sale at Toys R Us for $60. At $60, I couldn’t be happier. For $120, I’d probably be so-so. I find that the canopy is cheap and doesn’t extend far enough. It’s an awful lot bumpier than my bigger stroller (but I suppose all these umbrella strollers will be!), but my daughter doesn’t seem to mind. I’d have no concerns taking it traveling. I’m short, so walking with it over my shoulder doesn’t work very well, but my husband has done it a few times and has commented that it’s totally fine. The storage underneath is pretty good, but not enormous. It fits more than enough stuff when out running errands or mall shopping, but it wouldn’t hold a full diaper bag or cooler, etc.
Compact Mid-Size with Handling Quirks
I am happy that I found a stroller between a too-simple umbrella stroller and a full-size stroller. I still need the shoulder straps (5-point harness) to buckle him in, however, which ultra-portable umbrella strollers are all missing (why??). This is a happy medium, but it does fold awkwardly and not quite as slim as I'd like. Husband also complained that he doesn't like pushing this one because the handles don't telescope or anything to accommodate his height (he is 6' 2" and I am 5' 4")--it works fine for me. The steering is also a bit weird; the front wheels don't turn like what would make sense, so I end up scooching it by resting it more on the front wheels and kind of pivoting by lifting the back up slightly.
