We were waiting until she was ready to switch and of course our crib has been discontinued so I can't find the matching rail anywhere. Except eBay for 4x the price. We're now in the market for a new bed because half the point of buying a convertible crib was not buying a toddler bed later. Unless I'm missing something?

Dream On Me crib rail stuck in bottom position
The rail seems to be stuck in the bottom position. The front rail is a solid piece and the hardest part was getting the mattress frame in the top slots. Anyone else experience this or have ideas? Edit: For those who find this by search later: It doesn't drop. Just a solid piece. If the mattress is in the bottom position it does serve as a toddler rail.

Advice to buy guard rail with Westwood/Dream On Me crib
We have a Westwood baby Taylor (it’s made by Dream On Me from my understanding). Buy the rail now! It took us a lot of searching to find the compatible rail. Definitely don't wait. I bought the rail at the same time as the crib. I'd heard too many horror stories of the crib being discontinued.

Incompatibility of generic rail with specific crib
Yes, we have a Dream On Me crib and the top is different than the bottom. The toddler rail specifically says it’s made for our model but the holes don’t line up. We may end up using a safety rail when the time comes.

Some convert cribs without a separate rail
The front panel of the crib becomes the footboard. There is no guard rail needed. We just removed the front and put a pool noodle under the sheet to keep him from rolling out.
