Initial impressions and weight comments on the Zelia system
We did go into a store to look at them but besides attempting to fold one up, we never bothered lifting any of the components. I ended up getting the Maxi Cosi Zelia 5-in-1 car seat and stroller and while it does the job, that thing was HEAVY. Especially the car seat. And the sun protection cover extended right under the handle (flush) so if it was up all the way, which it often was, it made carrying more of a pain.
Warning about Maxi-Cosi customer service and infant seat issues
PSA to new parents: do not buy any Maxi Cosi product. Their customer service is nonexistent and their products are garbage. We bought the 5-in-1 travel system and the infant seat base was defective. It took 3 months and a BBB complaint to get a refund.
Positive experience with redesigned Zelia in Canada
We love it! They redesigned it as of February and made the shock better and wheels bigger. It’s the only stroller we have and I’m not sure we’ll even end up getting a non-travel system since this has everything we need!
Decision to keep Zelia Luxe for all-terrain use
Maxi cosi zelia luxe. Bonus is that it comes with an infant car seat. I’m in Alberta and this stroller is a workhorse, it has such a smooth ride, comes with everything you could need. We used the bassinet function for the first 2.5 months of baby’s life and then converted it. Includes car seat converter, cup holder, rain cover, winter cover. And it’s pretty!
Comparison between Zelia and Evenflo Pivot
I went to West coast kids, they had the largest selection, so we could actually try things out that were in our price point. We ended up with the maxi-cosi zelia 5in1 travel system. The infant car seat was easy to install in the car, and the bassinet converts into a toddler seat, so there are only 2 attachments which I like! Both the car seat and the bassinet/toddler seat can be forward or rear facing. The storage basket is large as well.
