I have the Perma one (71", gray) and it's great for our wide hallway. The retractable feature is nice to tuck it away. But damn, that turn dial is annoying and the bottom latch sometimes gets stuck because the mesh is too tight. My 2yo hasn't figured out the lock yet, so that's good. Overall it does the job but I wish it felt more premium.

Recommendations and Perma gate feedback
I got the Perma 71" wide retractable gate in gray for our stairs and patio. Installation was straightforward, just needed a drill. It's been solid for 6 months, cat hasn't damaged the mesh. The one-hand operation is a lifesaver when carrying the baby. Only complaint is the mounting brackets feel a bit flimsy, but no failures yet.

Hardware vs pressure mounted gate discussion
Stay away from the Perma retractable gate. Ours started sagging after 3 months and the locking mechanism completely broke. We switched to a Retract-A-Gate and it's way sturdier, but double the price. If you go Perma, reinforce the mounts with better screws.
