Mesh bed rail, baby, me, toddler, hubby is how we did it with 2 young kiddos. Baby would naturally cuddle in tight with me so I wasn't concerned about the bed rail. Haha yes bed rails are great! Highly recommend. Like I said I got a mesh one for peace of mind.

Dream On Me bed rail only fits twin beds and thinner mattresses
It is made more for a thinner twin bed....we tried it on our pillow top king bed and it only stood 2 inches above our bed... No...it will work with the slats, but the length under the mattress won't extend for a full size. It will only fit a twin width.

Dream On Me mesh rail affordable but installation can be tricky
We have 2 dream on me mesh rails on our bed (twin bed, pushed up against our King). it works well. during the winter our mattress expanded and the rails barely stuck up so it was essentially a 1 inch rail for a week. we got them off amazon for really cheap. i will warn you though, they are an absolute pain in the ass to install if you have a heavy mattress. if i, 30 weeks pregnant, had to install them, id have thrown them out the window, but if you have help its a quick install.
