Baby Trend is definitely a budget brand but there's nothing wrong with it. It has to pass the same safety standards as any other brand. However, you can get Graco or Evenflo for around the same price and both of those are slightly higher quality. If you can afford it I'd recommend spending slightly more but mostly for quality of life features. If budget is your main concern then Baby Trend will be fine.

I wouldn't buy a Baby Trend. I'd rather buy a used Graco or Chicco. If you're on a tight budget, look for used Graco Modes or Chicco Bravo systems. The Baby Trend is really flimsy.

Baby Trend car seat issues reported by user
I have the Baby Trend EZ Ride 35 system. The car seat keeps getting stuck in the base and I have to yank it to get it out. It's scary because in an emergency I wouldn't be able to get my baby out quickly. I called Baby Trend and they said there's no recall and basically did nothing. Also the buckle is a nightmare. You have to put two pieces together like a puzzle before clicking it into the buckle. And you can't find an extra base anywhere—they told me to buy the Ally 35 base but it's always out of stock.
