Great for ferrets, but not for permanent use
After trying a bunch of gates, the Regalo Widespan worked best for our ferrets. It's cheap and easy to set up, but we don't use it in high-traffic areas because it's a pain to open constantly. For a temporary barrier it's fine.

Solution for wide opening, but installation warning
I needed a long gate for a 72" opening. The Regalo Widespan was the only affordable option. It took hours to install and I had to re-drill holes. The hardware mount feels solid now, but the instructions are terrible. Be prepared to improvise.

Misleading instructions: phantom parts confusion
The instructions show pieces that aren't in the box. Like others, I thought I was missing parts, but you just have to ignore those steps. Once you figure that out, assembly is straightforward. Gate is sturdy.

Cheap but frustrating; alternative recommended
The Regalo gate is cheap and feels sturdy but the latch makes me want to smash it. I can't open it one-handed, it catches, and the door is narrow. I replaced it with a Cardinal gate which was 3x the price but worth every penny for sanity.
