Source Threads

  • Eagle Claw brand durability and user opinions

I have never broke an Eagle Claw. I have bent them getting snagged bobber fishing twice. Mind you that was a 5/0 or 6/0 with 80 pound Tuff Line and 40lb leader. What would you expect? I do know that Gami's break in the bend of the hoof instead of bend. I would rather have a hook bend than break.

  • Eagle Claw hook thickness changes

Newer Eagle Claw hooks are much thinner. I just got some the other day and noticed right away. Seems like they changed their wire diameter.

  • Small hook brand recommendations

Gamakatsu, Owner, and Mustad are all solid. Eagle Claw can be iffy on sharpness out of the box but if you give them a quick touch up they're fine.

  • Eagle Claw telescopic rod user experience

Hey has anyone tried this Eagle Claw telescopic rod? I'm thinking of getting one for backpacking. I have one and it works great for trout, haven't tried it on anything bigger yet but it feels solid.

  • Eagle Claw Featherlight rod review

I've been using it for years and it's a fantastic ultra light rod. Handles trout and panfish beautifully. Highly recommend. For the price you can't beat it.

  • Circle hook size for channel catfish

What size Eagle Claw circle hooks for channel cats? I'd go with 5/0 or 6/0 if you're using bigger baits.
