My baby loves this swing and it's the only thing that soothes her, but the motor gave out after less than 2 months. It would stop and make a high-pitched noise. Also, there is little head support, making it unsafe for a newborn without blankets. When it worked, it was great. Speed 4-5 makes it lift off the ground, so we only use up to speed 3.

Comparison with Mamaroo and used market advice
I used the Graco swing with my son and he loved it. A friend gave me her Mamaroo and I'm hoping this new baby likes it too. But honestly, every baby is different. I got my Graco for $5 at a yard sale, and the Mamaroo was $50 used. Buy used if you can; you never know what a baby will prefer.

Recommendation from a parent of a reflux baby
My baby has reflux and this swing has been a lifesaver. The side-to-side motion really helps soothe her, and she'll nap in it. I actually prefer it to the Fisher-Price swing we have, because this one is more compact and seems to calm her better.

Motor failure after 4 months, warranty frustration
The motor on ours completely died after about 4 months of use. We've been using it daily, but still, for the price, it should last longer. Graco customer service was no help, just said it's out of warranty. Anyone else have this happen?

Multiples parents find it useful for one baby while attending to others
We use it for one twin while we tend to the other. It's not our primary swing, but it's nice because it doesn't take up much space. Our baby will sleep in it for short naps. The vibration seems to help, but we've had to replace batteries often.
