This is exactly what I needed. I live in an apartment complex and since they never have screen doors, I had to make my own. Got the magnetic mesh screen to keep the bugs out and got the gate to keep my cats in. The gate was super easy to assemble. It took me about 20 minutes and I did it by myself. (No man needed lol) It’s sturdy and unlike other reviews I’ve seen for other gates similar to this one, the latch and lock do not seem like they’ll break. One thing I wasn’t expecting, is that the magnets on the screen connect to the gate. It gives it a very put together, clean look. The other thing that sold me on this one instead of any of the other ones, is the gate door is wider than most. I don’t have to turn sideways to walk in. I’m 5’8” 190lbs. I highly recommend this product to my fellow apartment peeps that have animals.

This is not cat proof. We received this gate on April 8th. It is a good quality gate, easy to open/close and sturdy. However, after 4 days our determined, athletic cat was able to jump to the top and pull himself over and escape! Just wanted those who were shopping for a 'cat proof gate' to know before buying.
