My girlfriend loves this helmet. Great price too.
Kiddo loves this helmet and it looks sharp. Best color I've seen in the maroon.
Loved the brown one the color was beautiful!! Fit perfectly!
Fits my son great!
My son loved the color. He tried it in very cold temperatures and it kept his head warm in the lift. Recommended!
My high schooler loves this helmet; you cannot find any at this price and quality. We've bought helmets from Retrospec before, and they hold up very well. Had to upgrade since he grew and needed a bigger one. If you're still deciding, just buy it; at this price, you can buy 2 or 3 and still come out ahead.
Just as ordered. Thank you!
Great Helmet
I feel safe
This helmet fits well and feels great. Thankfully I haven't needed it yet but when I do I'm ready thanks to retrospect.
Ski Helmet
Product was as expected. Delivery was timely and the transaction was easy. I will purchase with this seller again.

Great helmets for for price. Great colors. Gets the job done!
it’s super cute style it just kinda sits on the forehead high so beware of that, but it does what it’s made for and that’s what matters!

Snowboard Helmet Comfy Fit/Not too snug
It was comfy fit and perfect size for me. I have not worn it out yet but looking forward to it this snowboard season!
Love it!
Love the fit and style, no gunna lie ended up hitting my head pretty good last weekend and felt totally fine!
super good!
this price was the cheapest i could find for what i was looking for and it's really great! i would definitely recommend! my head is about 22 1/2 inches (~57cm) and a medium fit perfectly. the nob in the back rotates and makes it tighter if needed. the sides keep your ears warm and i can place my ski goggles on top of the front if i want to take them off. the buckle that goes around your neck is adjustable and the there is a cover which makes it soft and its removable. i absolutely love this helmet!
Comfy and Cheap
So far so good. Comfortable helmet. Haven't taken a hit to it yet and hopefully will never find out but it feels solid.
Wooden faux ski helmet
Second time buying it first one got stolen LOL like the helmet would be nice if it was easier to put your pods in and the helmets a little bulky does the job and definitely can notice the helmet from a distance
Comfortable, warm, and reasonably priced
I bought this helmet so I could enjoy snowskating and snowboarding without risking damage to my precious dome. The adjustable sizing gives a cozy fit and keeps you warmer than most winter hats. One of the cheaper options out there, too. Follow the creed laid down by Wu Tang and protect yo neck!
great!
It works great!

Q&A

Does this helmet include rotational-impact protection (e.g., MIPS or similar)?
No — this model does not include a rotational-impact system such as MIPS. The Comstock uses an ABS outer shell with an EPS foam liner and lists compliance with EN 1077:2007 Class B, but the product features and description do not list MIPS or any similar rotational-impact technology.
product_description and product_features (ABS shell, EPS liner, EN 1077:2007 Class B); lack of any MIPS/rotational-impact mention in listing
What is the weight of the helmet for the Youth (52–55 cm), S/M and M/L sizes?
We don’t publish size‑by‑size weights on the official product page. Retailer specifications for the Comstock show the helmet weighing roughly 450–500 g (about 1.0–1.1 lb), so the Youth (52–55 cm), S/M and M/L sizes will be very similar in weight (around 1.0–1.1 lb).

Are the removable fleece ear pads compatible with aftermarket Bluetooth speakers or do they include speaker pockets?
We do not include built-in speaker pockets or integrated Bluetooth in the Retrospec Comstock Youth Ski & Snowboard Helmet — the product listing only notes removable fleece-lined earmuffs and does not list audio pockets or integrated speakers. The earmuffs are removable (they slide off the straps) and are hand-washable, so some people fit very slim aftermarket speaker pods at their own discretion, but the helmet is not designed or guaranteed to accommodate speaker modules. Can the helmet vents be closed for very cold or windy days, or are they fixed open?
We don’t have a vent-shutoff — the Comstock’s vents are fixed open and cannot be closed. It features 10 vents with a moisture-wicking mesh cap, and comes with removable fleece-lined earmuffs (hand-washable) you can use — or add a thin balaclava — for extra warmth on very cold or windy days.
product_description and product_features (10 vents, moisture-wicking mesh cap, removable fleece-lined earmuffs)
Is the rear ErgoKnob dial adjustable while wearing thick winter gloves, and has the dial been tested for long-term durability?
Yes — the Comstock uses Retrospec’s ErgoKnob (rear dial) designed for quick, one‑handed fit changes and retailer/review notes indicate the dial is usable with thick winter gloves. Retrospec’s product pages and help docs describe the ErgoKnob but do not publish independent long‑term durability test results for the dial, so while owners commonly report it holds up in regular use, there’s no official lifecycle test to cite. After a significant impact (crash or drop), does the manufacturer recommend replacing the helmet, and are replacement liners or parts available separately?
We follow Retrospec’s guidance: do not use a helmet that’s been involved in an accident — even if it looks undamaged, dispose of it and buy a new one. [1] Replacement liners/parts aren’t offered as a guaranteed self-serve item on the product page; Retrospec asks customers to contact them so they can check parts availability (the Comstock does have removable, hand-washable earmuffs, but replacement parts aren’t listed online). What age range (in years) do you recommend for the Youth OS size (52–55 cm) — any example head measurements by age?
We recommend the Youth OS (52–55 cm) for roughly ages 5–8 years; this falls into the medium/youth range on Retrospec’s kids sizing chart. Example head circumferences you can expect by age (approx.): 4 yrs ~50–51 cm, 5 yrs ~51–52 cm, 6 yrs ~52–53 cm, 7 yrs ~53–54 cm, 8 yrs ~54–55 cm — measure around the widest part of the head (just above the eyebrows) and pick the size that matches the centimeter measurement rather than age. The helmet’s rear dial lets you fine-tune the fit within that 52–55 cm range.

The listing says the ear pads are hand-washable—are they safe to machine wash on a gentle cycle, and what is the recommended drying method?
We recommend hand-washing the removable fleece ear pads only — Retrospec lists them as “hand wash only,” so do not machine-wash them (even on a gentle cycle). After rinsing, gently press or towel out excess water and air-dry completely away from direct heat or sunlight; do not tumble-dry. [1] [2]
