Not versatile

Ki

For my daughter, I had the Pria collection with the infant car seat then the front facing car seat and I never had to change the base but with the Zelia collection there isn't a compatible car seat option. My son is 7 months old and already looking too big for the infant car seat. I thought I would just change the car seat since the Zelia set came with a stroller attachment for when he grew out of the infant seat but the base does NOT have a compatible seat. I have to purchase a new seat and base and that's Just a waste. Everyone talks about security issues but when my husband installed the base it did NOT move at all. Look at a YouTube video to learn how to secure it

Base is not very secure

Cj

I wanted to love this car seat, however after installing it the base does not seem very secure on my leather seats. I've got it installed as tight as it can be and base still seems to move around and when I try to disconnect the base from the infant carrier disengaging the latch can be difficult as well. I bought this seat to save money for our 2nd vehicle instead of buying a more expensive brand and I regret it :( this I so unfortunate because I love maxi cosi brand car seats for my current toddler. I wish I had seen maxi cosi max which seems to be more secure with the floor installation to secure the base.

Adjustable & Secure

KGMo21

I've really enjoyed this car seat base. I like that the base is adjustable so the car seat can be parallel with the ground no matter the seat it's attached to. The easy LATCH system makes it simple to install. This thing gets tight and secure. Like all things that have the LATCH system you just put a knee on it to add body weight and pull the straps. Easy to get car seat in and out of. I'd highly recommend this base.

The car seat moves no matter what you do with the base

Baby O

This base came with the car seat and honestly, it feels so cheap and slightly dangerous. Almost feel I should contact AAPA and get their opinion about the safety of this base. No matter what you do, the base doesn't feel secure, and suggesting a professional for an "EASY LATCH" system adds insult to injury. This isn't hard, it's just not super secure in terms of the design.

Imposible to properly secure

Brad

Carseat and stroller are great, however this base is aweful and imposible to properly secure on the forward facing side of the base. The side with the anchor is secure but the front side can lift almost a foot off the seat which I think would be very unsafe in an accident. It looks like there is a recall for the base, I'm going to look into that.

Not satisfied

Bad car seat base

Upset. First child over here and this base came with the car seat I put it in my car and it completely moved no matter how tight you put the seatbelt. So unsafe and if you do the seatbelt over the car seat forget it. One small turn and there goes the whole car seat. Very disappointed.

Absolutely love stroller/car seat combo, but not the base.

Madelyn

The base of infant cat seat seems VERY unstable. Do not recommend this product for the fact that the base is seemingly unsafe. It tightens in the back well, but in the front it moves up and down WAY too easily!

I would not buy this

CP

This is absolutely the cheapest base/car seat I have ever had. No matter what you do the base moves and does not get tight. The car seat is made cheaply. I wish I would of never got it.

Not a sturdy base

Leslie

This base moves around so much, doesn't matter how tight it is. Moves to the sides and up & down. Not very safe if someone isn't in the back seat with the infant.

Won't secure at all!

David

For the latch system, no matter how you tighten it, it is not secured at all. And it definitely moves more than an 1" left to right and up and down. Very unsafe.

Not safe

Michelle

There is no way to secure this base and be safe. I will be returning this awful set up for infant use!

Not secure. Why risk it with this junk?

Unhappy customer

Not going to use it. Would you risk bringing your baby home in this cheap junk?

Cheap Quality and bad slow customer service.

Panicked Father

I purchased this a month before the baby is due. The car seat does not remove from the base when you use the release button. It went from having to wiggle the seat to get it out to not being able to take the seat out of the base at all. I was told this was a quality produced. My kid is coming and the customer service is extremely slow. They only respond to my emails once a day. I'm still scrambling to get a replacement seat but i wait a full day before any response. This is not something I need to worry about with a child coming.

Not to bad.

pooh91

this carseat stroller combo was gifted to me last year for our son although the base is terrible i found a secure safeway to install the whole carseat in my truck i just dont like that it will lean to 1 side more. but other then that itst still a good carseat.

Awful, unsafe, DO NOT BUY

Jenna

Do not buy this base. It is cheaply made and not safe for your child. I am a first time mom and am completely disappointed with this company. Between the this base and the car seat I don’t understand how they are still selling these items. Both are cheap, poorly made, and unsafe. It shows how much this company does not care for our kids safety. This does not have a leveling feature just a line printed that you are suppose to eye up with the floor and it wiggles all over the place even when you have it tightened down. Today when driving I noticed when I was hitting my gas trying to get up to speed on freeway the whole car seat base was lifting up. 0/5 stars. Do not buy.

Do not buy this product, unsafe base

Marka

I purchased the mico luxe infant seat and base, but would not recommend it to anyone. It moves way beyond the recommended amount side to side despite getting a professional to install it, as well as the head of the base feels far too loose to be safe. Unable to see how this product does not have worse reviews online.

The Maxi-Cosi Mico 30 is a lightweight, stylish infant seat but the base can be tricky to install securely, especially in smaller cars.

mediumThe seat may be too long for compact cars, forcing front seats to be moved forward significantly.

Community Q&A

Is the Maxi-Cosi Mico 30 base easy to install?
It can be difficult; some users find the LATCH system doesn't get tight enough, causing the base to move, and installation may vary by vehicle seat type.

Compared To

vs Nuna Pipa

Nuna is often considered higher quality with easier base installation, but pricier; Maxi-Cosi is lighter and more budget-friendly but base issues are noted.

vs Graco

Graco is seen as easier to install and more universal, while Maxi-Cosi may be lighter and more stylish.

vs Cybex Aton M

Cybex has a load leg for extra safety and may be preferred if budget allows, but Maxi-Cosi is still considered a good, safe option when properly installed.

  • Comparison between Maxi-Cosi Mico 30 and Cybex Aton M

The maxi cosi is a good car seat and has lasted me through two babies. i have nothing bad to say about it... I've seen some comments about the Maxi Cosi not being 'safe' enough... The one complaint I have about the mico is the interior gets narrower the closer it gets to the top. LO's shoulders started getting squished around 6 months... I'd go with Cybex. I just attended a tech conference and learned more about load legs. They make a big safety difference.

  • Lightweight and easy base, but some fit and compatibility issues

We had a Chicco and decided to go with this... the base installation was easier than the Chicco base! I also really liked how light the car seat is as well! Only minor complaint is the canopy... This rear facing infant car seat is much larger than my husbands Camaro can handle... In comparison to the Graco Connect that I have I prefer the Graco over the Maxi-Cosi Mico 30 simply because of compatibility ease... it does move up/down by more than 1inch... I know this is fine by safety standards but doesn't seem fully reassuring.

  • Lightweight and travel-friendly, but short usage period

We used the maxi Cosi infant car seat as a travel car seat and it worked great... they are both light and very easy to install with just a seat belt and don't require a base... Our infant seat is MC and I got it for $280 during a sale a couple years ago. So price and the fact that the seat was light were big selling features. Our daughter (and our arms lol) were happier when we switched her to a convertible seat around 6 months.

  • Comparison between Nuna and Maxi-Cosi, value for money

I'm looking into these infant two car seats as I want something compatible with the stroller, lightweight... Does anyone have either of these infant car seats and can provide pros/cons? ... I did see on several reviews that the Nuna Pippa did not clip in as great as other brands on the indie twin... but I have a maxi cosi convertible seat for our toddler and we really like it!
