Recommendation for wider backless booster mentions Britax Upngo Click
The Britax Upngo Click is a decent backless booster but runs kind of narrow. If you're looking for wider, the Graco TurboBooster backless is roomier. Also, the Chicco KidFit is nice because it has the lap belt positioner that helps with fit.

Discussion on Britax Poplar vs others, mentions booster use
I'm looking at the Britax Poplar S because I love the ClickTight install, but I'm worried about longevity. People say it's outgrown quickly by height. For a booster later, I'd probably go with a dedicated backless like the Britax Upngo Click or something similar.

Critique of Britax Grow With You booster mentions Upngo alternative
The Britax Grow With You isn't my favorite as a booster. The belt path is weird and it doesn't offer much leg support. For a backless, I'd just get the Upngo Click. It's simple, easy to move, and the ClickTight makes it secure.

General booster seat advice relevant to backless options like Britax
Backless boosters are fine once the child passes the 5-step test essentially without a booster, usually around age 5-6 and 40+ lbs. Britax makes reliable seats, but always check the fit: the lap belt should sit low on the hips, touching the thighs, and the shoulder belt should cross mid-chest.
