This was the only swaddle my baby finally slept in during the transition. He is an avid hand sucker, so he never slept well in the ones that kept arms down. The SwaddleDesigns ones have the arms up mitten style, which kept him cozy but also gave him access to his hands. And they are fleece-free and lightweight. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

Transition swaddle recommendations and comparisons
We just got the SwaddleDesigns transitional swaddle for our Houdini baby and so far he loves it. It allows him to self soothe by having his hands by his face but also helps with his startle reflex. We tried the zipadee zip, nope. Tried the Merlin, nope. But this one he tolerates because he can suck on his hands.

Are transitional swaddles safe?
The swaddledesigns transitional swaddle is designed with arms out/up so was a great option for us once LO rolled before 3 months when we didn't feel comfortable with typical swaddle anymore. We used it from about 3-6 months old until he eventually transitioned to a sleep sack. It definitely took a few nights but he got used to it.
