This swing is awesome. My little guy doesn't like to be put down very often. He loves to be held and rocked to sleep. He seems to prefer it in the side position so he is swinging back and forth instead of side to side. It is very sturdy but light enough to make it easy to transition from one position to the other. Especially if you're in a smaller space, or like to minimize the amount of separate baby items you have, it's a great option to utilize for multiple benefits.  \nInstructions were easy to follow as there was some assembly required.  \nMy favorite overall feature of this item was how easy it was to change the direction of the seat to swing either side-to-side or front to back in both directions.  Handles on the side made it extremely easy to pull the seat to become a rocker, yet once on the swing arm it felt very secure for baby.  The harness is akin to a high-chair harness.  It is adjustable, but thin straps and not very comfortable.  I could see the design of this improving slightly for comfort and ease of use.  \nThe side of the unit is nice.  My baby is slightly older at nine months to start utilizing, but even with his 98% for height to age he was able to comfortably fit in the chair.  I do see the most benefit gained from utilizing at a much younger age however.  \nSpeed selections for the swing were nice; it does help to get the momentum started by pushing the swing gently to start.  The vibration in the seat was not something I found myself using much, or noticed much either way by my baby.  \nThe toy bar I was excited to use, however the two included plush toy stars connect with a very small piece of Velcro which didn't always stay on, or was removed very quickly by baby.  I do think it is a great idea however as babies seem to like to focus on looking at and grabbing at something while in the chair.  \nOverall, I do recommend this baby rocker and swing to others. Trying to find shave for 2 of these nice and slim bad boys just wasn't an issue at all!\n\nThe toys are simple but cute. Even though it's easy to remove the rocker seat from the swing, it still feels so secure when it's on the swing. The handles on the sides are genius and I appreciate them greatly. I also appreciate how this is multiple products in one space saving item, because as all parents know there are so many baby items in our homes. I really like how the swing can be turned in case your baby has a preference for which way they like to sit. The seat keeps baby entertained while I do some quick things around the house and baby really enjoys this swing the most out of any we've tried. The seat fits well in the bathroom for a quick shower! As much as baby and I love this swing there's a few things that I would love to see changed. The seat straps and buckles are so small. Even on the longest setting my chunky baby is too snug. Maybe it's the way my baby is built, but I just feel that the straps could be longer. The toy bar will not stay attached to our seat. The swing does feel solid, and I never felt like the rocker was going to fall off the swing. My daughter did seem to enjoy the rocker by itself. The vibration was very soothing for her. Assembly was so-so. The directions were a bit vague. I did not like that the stars on the toy bar were attached by velcro. Some might like that they are easily detached, but in our house (with older toddlers), that just means easy to lose. It was incredibly easy to place the rocker onto the swing. The seat reclines so I am able to adjust her comfort which she loves. The one down side I have found was the mobile attachment is easily detached by my daughter so we have chosen to keep it off. \n\nThe rocker functionality has been great! The overall height of the swing is shorter than many competitors while the seat remains at a comfortable height that I have no problem reaching my baby. \n\nI like the space saving design and when not in use I commonly have it setup as a swing to conserve floor space. I was able to set up the swing base in my living room move the rocker into my home office on another floor. The rocker is a convenient and safe place for my baby when I need to take a shower or completing tasks around the house. \n\nAdjusting the swing speed is easy. The slow speed would work great for a newborn but pretty quickly would not have enough power as baby grows. The max speed works great for my baby currently but does not seem as strong as other full size swings on the market. I love the option of using it as a swing and then the quick convenience of removing the seat and having a portable rocker when I need one. The rocker has two handles on each side making it easy to carry. The size makes it portable to use in smaller areas of my home.  This way I am not limited to just having my baby in one room. To remove the rocker you step on the swing frame and pull up. One thing I don't like is how rough it can be to remove. As you are removing the rocker it hits the front of the speed knob on the swing. I don't like this because I feel like it is going to wear away the knob of the swing overtime. It is easier to attach then it is to remove. All you have to do is push down the rocker onto the base of the swing. The  process of replacing the rocker is a lot easier.\nThe seat has a one handed option to recline the back or forward. The process is a little loud so it isn't something I am able to do while my baby is sleeping because it startles her awake. I have to adjust the seat before I put her in the swing. Sometimes it can be hard to push the button to recline back and forth but not always. \nThe swing has a min and max speed. The different speeds on the swing are smooth and calming to my baby. It is nice to have various speeds I can adjust based on whether my baby is sleeping or playing. You can hear the swing but the swinging motion isn't too loud. It has never been loud enough to wake my baby. The swing also came with a removable toy bar. My baby likes to watch the stars as the swing moves. She will go back and forth from looking around the room to looking at the toy bar. It's nice to have an option of something  that keeps her attention while swinging. \nI like the roominess of the seat on the rocker. I like that there is a lot of space for my baby to wiggle around in when they aren't sleeping. This also makes it easier and quicker for me to find her binky and toys when she has dropped them. I like this because I don’t have to feel around and under my baby trying to find them. The extra space allows me to see them and return them quickly before my baby gets upset. The fabric around the edge of the seat is a softer comfortable material with a washable fabric in the middle. The washable material has definitely made it easier for me to clean up spit up messes. I also like the soft material around the edge because the way it is positioned allows my baby a soft place to rest their head while they are sleeping.. The safety buckle is designed like a carseat harness. There are straps that go around my babies shoulders and then around her waist. Each of these straps has a piece that slips into each other in order for you to be able to click into the buckle. This process can be very frustrating while my baby is moving because I sometimes have trouble getting them to slip into each other without several attempts. I wish there was just one set of straps and not two. It would be a lot easier and more convenient if I only needed to put the straps over my baby's shoulder and then buckle in front of their waist. It's almost like removing your infant car seat from the base to switch it to the stroller-- you just stand on the base/feet and click out the seat part so that it's fully removed from the swing.  You can use the swing facing front, or you can remove the seat and click it back perpendicularly so that the seat is facing right or left.  To use it as a rocker, just remove the entire seat from the \"lswing legs\" and put it on the floor.  The \"rocker legs\" stay on the seat even when it's popped in as a swing, so to use it as a rocker just remove it and put it on the floor.  The whole \"rocker\" is what swings in the swing, if that makes sense.\n\nThe seat itself has a 5 point harness which means even if you use it with a bit of an older, wigglier baby they are super secure. Many swings on the market have brought and over stimulating colors, but not this one. Sometimes my baby likes being rocked side to side, but there's are other times, she likes seeing what's going on around her and moving back and forth. I am a petite mom with no upper strength, but since the bouncer is light and so easy to snap on and off, I have had no problem navigating it by myself without calling my husband to help.  This is a manual powered bouncer instead of a battery or electric powered one, however, that did not bothered me because it still allows me to take a break from holding my LO and gently bounce him by pressing on the side bar with one of my hand or foot. The swing is amazing though, my favorite feature is the dial! It allows us to have a wide range of swing power compared to other swings on the market that have specific 3-5 settings. I tend to go half way on the dial when I first put my LO in the swing but once he falls asleep I would dial it down to 20% so he would rest more soundly. My LO loves the vibration of the swing, it helps calm him down much quicker compared to the other swing that I own. This would be ideal for an apartment dweller or for anyone with less space to dedicate to baby gear. It also is a 2 for 1 as it comes with an adjustable reclining bouncer as well as a swing. Again, space-saving. The transition from swing to bouncer was extremely easy. It does require two hands but a simple push forward and your bouncer detaches. This is also the way you can transition the swing from side to side to front and back. The vibration and music were especially helpful when I used the swing as a bouncer only. The handles on the side of the seat are really handy; I've never seen that feature on a bouncer before and it made sense. I knew exactly how to carry it. It also made me feel safer when I did have to move the seat. It was easier than I expected to remove the seat from the swing base. I like that the seat can face different directions in the swing so that it achieves different motions and I can reposition my baby without moving the whole swing base. The replacement came yesterday and I got it put together. The battery casing is still EXTREMELY picky on exactly where the battery touches and the battery isn’t tight in the casing so it too slips out of place on this one too. My husband got it rigged up so it stays where it needs to (for now at least) - sometimes it just starts making a clunking noise (my son is 6 weeks old so he’s really not doing anything but sitting in it so it’s nothing that he’s doing). The replacement swing appears to be working so far. There are many options for swing/removable chair combos out there so don’t go with this one. It takes me a few seconds of finagling it to get it on correctly. It also doesn’t have any way to lock the bouncer on the swing portion. It feels sturdy enough on the swing, but I’m more worried about my older toddler trying to remove the bouncer off the swing and it resulting in an accident. I feel like that could be a helpful added safety feature. \n\nI like that the vibration, sounds, and songs are battery operated apart from the power source of the swing, that way it can be separated from the swing and still have those functions available on the bouncer. The sounds and the toy bar are welcome and helpful features for sure. Although, the higher end of the vibrating portion seems a bit strong in my opinion. The greatest thing about the Graco Soothe 'n Sway LX Swing with bouncer is that it combines two essential pieces of baby gear into one more compact design! \n\nHere are the benefits of this swing:\n1 - Instead of having a swing taking up a corner of the room and bouncer chair in another, they are combined and take up far less space overall\n2- if the baby falls asleep in the swing and you need to move to a different room, you can easily and quickly move the baby without disrupting them by just lifting up the chair\n3- the swing frame is much more compact than previous Graco swings we've used \n4- the color scheme is very neutral and matches our decor nicely so it blends in well\n5- the ability to have the seat facing different directions is the best feature! The recline is just right, especially for reflux  babies (like mine)! \n12- it was VERY easy to assemble with minimal tools required out of the box\n\nThere are few things I would change:\n1- giving the chair an adjustable recline would be useful\n2- making the swing frame foldable. There is no way to fold it and put it out of the way when not in use unless you disassemble it and it is a rather large piece of metal sitting in the room (when you have the bouncer chair unattached)\n3- make the crotch strap adjustable length; it is VERY short. My baby is tiny (he was a preemie) and I feel like the strap does not come up high enough to his hips between his legs and it is not adjustable.\n4- add a volume control for the sound machine - it is fairly loud and there is no way to adjust it\n\nOverall, we love this swing! I also really loved the color of the bouncer. It was super neutral and and fit right in with my style. My baby loved the toys on the toy bar and I also thought they were very cute and easily detachable. The bouncer also boasts the vibration and songs/sounds which are a nice feature, personally we love the vibration feature the best. It’s just so soothing. If I had any cons to the product it would actually be that the directions were not extremely clear, but it was still relatively simple to assemble. The bouncer base seems a little flimsy but is still stable and sturdy. If you’re going to purchase this product, I would say it’s best to get when your baby is on the younger side. When I received it my baby was near the upper limits, so definitely a little on the smaller side for our uses. I absolutely need to have something to help soothe and rock baby when I need a moment or two to handle something for my toddlers. This swing gets the job done. For one, it doesn't take up too much floor space compared to similar products. This is so helpful because as a mom of three small children, I feel like my living room is crowded enough with baby gear. Having both the swing and rocker functionality in one product also saves space as that equals one less baby item to store in my house. Removing the seat to transition from swing to rocker was a bit clunky at first. The transition back to a swing was harder. However, I can say that it was easy to get used to after a few tries. The rocker truly is portable and D batteries are needed to enjoy the vibration feature of the seat. My absolute favorite feature of this product is the multi-direction seat that allows baby to swing side to side or front to back. I love love love that I can switch it up for my daughter so that she doesn't get bored. Do not under estimate how important this is. Also the adjustable swing speed is another major feature in my household because I can adjust it per my baby's mood and needs. The seat material is soft and super plush. My baby seems pretty relaxed and comfy in it. I must caution that the white plush material seems to attract dust. Nonetheless, the look is clean and contemporary and it should fit right in with any nursery or room decor. My least favorite part of this product is the toy bar. My daughter doesn't seem interested in it at all and the velcro doesn't hold the attachment to the toys. Overall, this is a very good and dependable swing that doubles as a portable rocker. My daughter is toward the higher end of the size limits, but still within, and honestly looked a bit big for it.
