Graco Simple Sway Baby Swing (Abbington)

I got this as a gift from our baby shower and it never worked once. Tried with batteries, plugged in, and both and still never turned on. I opened it up and tested the power (it’s receiving power), and seems to be an issue with the board. I’d like a replacement but got as a gift with no receipt

My baby loved this seat and it seemed like the only thing that could soothe her to sleep until 3.5 months , and then the motor just stopped working. We tried new batteries, new plug. Nothing would work. Very frustrating. Is this normal? Is there a recall? Is my 1 year warranty valid?

My baby loves this swing, but it’s very unreliable. We’ve been using it for about 4 weeks and it only works sometimes. There is something wrong with the swinging mechanism. It sounds like it’s trying to swing but isn’t doing it. My baby is only 10 lbs so he isn’t too heavy. Very disappointing since it’s the only thing that will sooth him when we’ve exhausted all options!

We got this for our first born and after just a couple tries, she never liked it so we put it up and stored it. Now that we just had our second child and he loves to swing, we tried using this one and it wont turn on. The swing has probably been used 3 times in total and it wont work. Very disappointed for a $150 swing. Complete waste of money.

We received this item as a gift and all it does is squeak. It also seems like the different swing levels dont change, level 1 swings just as fast as level 6. Super disappointed.

i bought this about a month ago and my daughter is only 13 lbs and its squeaking and clicking now. it used to be the only thing that put her to sleep and now the squeaking is so loud it just keeps her up.

Our unit was used a handful of times for our first born. We dutifully stored it, only to have it not function at all when we removed it from storage for our second child. Zero lights, no response to the power adapter with new batteries. Laughable for something this large and simple to break for $150 and like only 10 uses.

Got this as a baby shower gift and I LOVE it, or well l loved it. Less than 5 months of minimal use and half the swing setting don’t want to work and the knob itself is loose, not to mention the cord coming out of the leg literally fell off.

Absolute nightmare to put together. The instructions that come with it are impossible to follow. We had to look up a video. The finished product looks fine. I sure hope our baby likes it

Stopped working randomly. Got this as a gift at my baby shower and only got to use it 3 or 4 times before it stopped turning on. My baby isn’t even two months old. I don’t have the capacity to deal with this and a newborn baby. After reading the comments, I agree that the lowest function is too fast. The mobile doesn’t even spin! The noises offered aren’t louder than the sound of the motor rocking either. I’m disappointed and frustrated with this Graco Swing.

I received this swing from a friend brand new and used it for 2 months, currently it won’t power on no matter what troubleshooting I do. Do not buy.

Not designed well for newborn babies. There is very little head support. My son leans from one side to the other. Swings to fast in low speed (1) and after a short period of time and use, it is creaking and sounds like it is going to break. Not well made. Not worth the money.

It is complete junk, talk to customer service they told me how to take a picture do a video send in the receipt and I'm not doing all that I gave her the model number and everything it just stopped working tried new batteries the plug-in does not work at all I've only had it maybe a few months and I've had one baby in there. I will never buy from them again. I made sure before I hung up on the representative that I told her that. Do not buy. I should have listened to the reviews of other people that were saying the same thing now I feel like a complete idiot spending $120 on this piece of junk.

Awful product. This is our second replacement as the first one stopped working and the company send us a new one. Which just stopped working also. 2 weeks later.

Was gifted at my baby shower and now my son is only 2 months it no longer swings to the speed like it wont go past #1 and music started making a awful sound. Will not recommend getting for your kids or anyone elses.

I would give it 0 stars if I could. We haven't even been using this for 2 months and it's already broken. Completely shot, won't even turn on. And the power cord never worked, but we dealt with it because it worked with batteries. Do not buy this swing.

This was an amazing swing for the first 4 months, baby girl absolutely loved it but for the price it sucks that after just the 4 months it no longer swings at all, not so worth it unfortunately.

Just like the rest of the 1 star reviews, swing stopped swinging after a few weeks of using it. We got the first swing from a friend and that stopped working shortly after. We bought another one because our baby loved being in it but now that one is not working either. In addition, when it was working it was barely swinging and my baby is only 16 lbs.

Swing was purchased as a baby shower gift. After 2 months, the swing started having issues with powering on. Swing barely swings on mode 5 with a 16 lb baby in the swing. IF there is no weight in the swing, its super fast, but once you put the baby in the swing, it slows down to barely moving.

Terrible it went out in 2 months and started a bad noise from the music

I bought this swing wanting something simple. I anticipated little head support when looking at the picture prior to purchase but there is NO head support at all and the way it sits up makes it almost impossible to safely use with a newborn. The real nightmare began the moment it was taken out of the box! One of the snaps to hold the cover over the swing was bent and would not secure. Upon first use the music button stuck and wouldn’t play music you literally have to hit the button to get it to work. There have been several occasions where the swing will stop and a high pitched noise will sound until you completely unplug it from the wall and that’s if you can get it to work at all! Everything will be plugged in and it just won’t work but you can come back an hour later and it’ll work just fine! My daughter is 7 weeks old and it’’s not used frequently (not that it could be overused since it only works half the time) so I can assure you it isn’t from overuse!

After assembly it always needed a “push start”. My newborn baby is under 7 lbs. Swing motor went out in just under 2 weeks of extremely mild and gentle use. I wouldn’t recommend this product. I got this off my registry in January when my daughter was born she loved it but it all of a sudden went out today and will not work no matter what I try I'm disappointed because this was my daughter's favorite thing

We got this as a baby gift for our twins. We would use it daily and after a few months it out of the blue stopped working. We had only used the plug in adaptor, when it stopped working we tried batteries and it still didn't work.

I received this swing as a baby shower gift. The vibration feature on the swing makes a very loud noise and it scared my newborn. So I stopped using the feature. Today my husband put our daughter in it and turned on the vibration again to try it and within 5 minutes she started screaming. When he picked her up, the seat was hot and so was her back. No burn marks on her. Thanks to my husband paying attention as well. Now I don't want to use it at all and have to look at getting a different one. Not thrilled about spending the money but she loved the swing and music.

The swing is easy to put together, and the seat is plushy. The swing function itself is alright. Three is the optimal setting. If you have it set on 4 or 5 the motor clicks. If you set it on 1 or 2 it barely moves. 3 is decent movement and no clicking. The mobile is for looks only it doesn't spin. I took it off because it was in my way for no reason. The R E A L reason we bought this was because the seat vibrates since it's meant to be a bouncer and swing combo. The vibrate worked great for about a month. Now it doesn't work no matter if it's a fresh battery, rechargeable battery, nada. I tried to find a replacement vibrate box but it doesn't look like they're sold separately. This swing is very cheaply made, and cheap quality. I expect more from a well known brand like Graco to be honest. I'm very disappointed that I'll have to buy another swing combo and I doubt I'll choose another Graco.

We bought this 3 years ago for our grandson. Worked like a charm. He outgrew it and we put it away for the last two years. Our second grandchild arrived and we brought it out again. Worked like a champ- for 4 days and then stopped working. New batteries, checked the adapter, nothing helped. Kaput. I can't really recommend this to anyone. Just doesn't last.

We loved this swing at first. Then all of a sudden it would work some times but not others. Then right at 3 months of having it, it will not turn on at all.

The angle of the swing is NOT SAFE for a baby who cannot hold their head up. Product says 5.5-30 pounds and my LO is 9 lbs but the angle of the swing makes her chin go to her chest and the lowest buckle setting is at her ears! She is in the 90th percentile for weight and 99th for height for her age. I chatted with graco and basically was told they safety test everything and it’s fine that her head is supported properly and that there wasn’t anything I could do but return to the original store it was purchased from. It was a gift and is well past the return window. Extremely annoyed with graco.

I bought this at the end of last year. My grandbaby wasn't using it until Jan so he was 3 months old. Come to find out after numerous different batteries and cords that the motor is blown. He really loves his swing so I had to buy another. Would be nice to get it fixed & use it someday for another grandbaby.

Doesn’t work plugged in or with new batteries- seems a shame to have to throw it away after minimal use. It only lasted a year. It is not a small piece of equipment like the description says.

I received this as a baby shower gift. I loved it for the first month. But then it started making noises. The vibration kept getting louder. We eventually put tape over the place that holds the batteries, that helped some. But then the swing started making noise. Then one day the swing just stopped working. I put new batteries in, that didn’t help. I plugged the AC adapter in and that didn’t work either. The swing and music will randomly start working for a few days then stop again. It’s very frustrating. And looking at the reviews, seems like that’s been an issue. But overall, my baby loves the swing.

I purchased this swing for my child about a week ago. Initially I was excited about the swings capabilities and functionalities however, after putting the swing together I noticed how dangerous it is. My first issue with this swing is it doesn't hold your child properly. The child sits slouched and having little to no head support (which causes their head to tilt to one direction). I did try to fix this issue on my own by using my child's car seat insert, however, that still wasn't good enough. Second problem is this swing goes entirely too fast. I always put the swing on 1, which is it's lowest setting and its swings so fast (left to right) I am scared my child will not be safe in it. Absolutely horrible product. I wish I could have chosen a better product because this one isn't it.

Bought this for my grandson. Assembled it. Installed batteries and vibration works. Plugged in the adapter and tried turning it on and NOTHING! LED doesn't come on nor does anything else!

I received this as a baby shower gift in august and put it together the first week of September for my newborn. Today I went to put my son in it and it would work. Not the music or the swinging. . I use it a few times a day but definitely not overused. I was very disappointed to see other reviews saying the same thing. I have always thought graco products are good, but this is a huge disappointment. Especially for a product that isn’t cheap, it should work for a lot longer than 3 months. The only reason I rated it two instead of one is because while it worked my baby did enjoy it. But now it’s pretty useless.

Baby was born Aug 5th and have only used it a handful of times and it won't swing anymore and makes a clicking noise. It's just right after Thanksgiving, and i no longer have a functional swing. Terrible purchase and do not recommend. I had previously bought ALL things Graco but I am going to seriously reconsider what band I have for my family in the future.

Our son really enjoyed it, Unplugged it from the wall accidentally and plugged back in (at both ports) and even added the batteries; green light is on as if to say the swing is on, but will now not play music or swing on any setting.

I bought this with the hope of a simple set up. Not even two parts in, I realize that the parts that came with it, were broken and bent and just wrong. So this was a big waste of my time and money. Never again will I buy your products.

Worked fine for ab two days with light use. Now makes horrible grinding sound when turned on & won’t swing & speakers constantly popping. Sucks because my son loved it and it gave me a chance to get housework done.

It wasn’t the easiest to put together, it came with poor instructions and I was 9 months pregnant (probably not the best time to try to put together). After I finally got it assembled, I realized you need to put batteries in to make the vibration work and it’s underneath the seat cover that took way to long to put on so I was super frustrated. Once our baby girl arrived, she loved being in the swing and it worked fine for 6 weeks. Now the knob on the top lights up when you turn it on but it doesn’t swing or play music. I’ve tried it both with batteries and plugged in. I am very disappointed. I got this for a shower gift and I threw the box out just last week because it was working just fine. So now I am stuck without a swing or a way to return it. I hope Grace makes this right. I’ve noticed a few other reviews with this same issue.

Baby's not even born yet. Put this thing together and turned it on, it's SUPER LOUD and the whole structure rocks back and forth with it... I'm afraid to put a baby in here I feel like the whole thing it going to fall over. Oh, and just so you don't get surprised like I was, the mobile doesn't turn... I've had this swing for 2 weeks. My 3 month old loves it. She is not above the weight limit and it barely swings. I can turn it on the highest speed without her in it and it barely moves still. It squeaks and seems like its struggling to work. I really expected to get more than 2 weeks use out of it. Very disappointing.

We bought this a few years ago for our first child, and liked it at first. After a few months (with infrequent use) the motor started squeaking. Shortly thereafter he grew out of it and it went into storage. We just got it out again for our second son and I was reminded of our disappointment in the purchase. The speed is inconsistent, and the noise is terrible. I can't justify spending half the cost of a new unit on a replacement motor that'd likely have the same issues.

Received this as a gift for our first baby and brought it out for baby number two. As with many of the other reviews it has stopped working after minimal use with our first and one use for our second. The apparent fix is to replace the motor unit which is an additional $50 on top of an expensive product, but the real kicker is that there are no replacement motors in stock and they take more than six weeks to be back in stock and longer to receive. A little disappointed in this product from the normally high quality Graco line.

This swing was purchased as a baby shower gift. My favorite baby shower gift. It’s a wonderful swing, but only for a very short time though. After four months of using it, the swing is having issues. The swing no longer swings even when it’s on mode 6 with a 17lb baby in it even though the weight limit is 30lbs. It does however swing very fast if there is no weight in the swing, but once I put my baby in the swing, it doesn’t move. I’ve tried to push start it, which did used to work when it wouldn’t want to start swinging on its own, but now when I do that it just comes to a complete stop. I’m so upset as the swing was my babies favorite. (Mom’s favorite too because of the tiniest moment to herself that she got). I want to recommend this swing, but for the price it seems kind of useless if you can’t use it long. So just be cautious if you do choose to get it.

Our twin boys love this swing BUT it stopped working after a few months. We have a similar swing made by Fischer Price that's over 8 years old that still works great. I guess you get what you pay for!

I bought this before my baby came home from the hospital. It worked great until about two and half months, and now it’s completely stopped working. It’s not like we used it a whole lot either, my Velcro baby loves to be held so we really only used the swing maybe a couple times a week

My son and daughter n law bought this swing (Simple Sway 1927158) and used it “maybe” 2 months. They are getting ready for baby #2 and guess what? It doesn’t work!!! She was told by Graco that she can purchase a new motor for $50. Really? I don’t think so!! This swing and customer service is just terrible!

The vibration never worked, it would sometimes get stuck still when swinging so it would click because it was stuck. Once we moved it manually it would resume swinging. Finally after 3 months, it officially stopped working with batteries and wall plug in. So frustrating.

This was purchased as a gift for my baby shower. When our daughter was born we put her in it and she was hunched over and sliding to one side. It also swings way too hard for how little she was. We thought maybe she was just too little so we waited. She is now 2 months old and it works a little better but she still falls to one side, her head slouches forward immediately and it is still too fast. It does not recline or adjust so she just sits straight up. Unfortunately I am not comfortable using it since there is too high of a risk for positional asphyxiation. The music is very quiet, sometimes I don’t even notice it is on. It seems to be good quality and quiet, just feels unsafe for small babies.

My mother bought this for me for my son(first baby) and he absolutely loved it, one day it was working great! Next day I went to put him in and the green light wouldn’t turn on. It was plugged in, the wires were attached to each other inside the poles and nothing. So I unplugged it put brand new batteries in up top and still wouldn’t turn on. My son was only 17 pounds at the time and it says up to 30 pounds. My mom got on amazon so I don’t know how I’d go about getting a new one because I shouldn’t have to re buy it. I did nothing to it.

This mobile and swing does very little to peak baby’s curiosity… no movement, dull colors… can u recommend some that stimulates as they swing. Please, I am so discouraged.

Baby likes the swing most of the time helps rock her to sleep when she is fussy and won’t nap. I don’t really care for the music options. I do like how it plugs in it is pretty big and takes up some space

Baby just didn’t want to be in this swing and since it was unsafe for babies to sleep in it pushed it to be used even less. Great idea but if I had to do it over again I’d skip this.

Our little guy LOVED this swing. Was so good at soothing him when nothing else could. Also great for giving mom and dad a second to do something. Ours had the bear mobile and he was obsessed; would laugh and giggle and coo at them nonstop! Great product would recommend.

I like this baby swing because it is comfortable and swings softly. It is not noisy and has different speeds to choose from. I highly recommend this great swing.

Love this swing for my babies early stages, plays music and rocks back and forth. Honestly this stuff just depends on the baby but mine seemed to like it till she could try to crawl out

This is a pretty decent swing. Does what it's supposed to do. My kids never really cared for swings but it's built nicely.

I don’t personally have a child yet- however, several of my friends love this swing. They usually have it in the living room and their babies have a blast in it. OR they fall asleep! Highly recommend! I surely will get one when I’m pregnant soon.

I loved this swing. If I wasn’t baby wearing, I would put my kids in this. It helped a lot during the days I was touched out or just needed a moment. I knew they were safe and comfortable. They also seemed to enjoy it.

Bought it for my first child. Loved it! My little one would sit there for 15-20 minutes without needing attention. Also very sturdy but easy to move around.

My grandson couldn’t sleep unless he was in this contraption. It was easy to clean but a bit cumbersome to pack up and store. Still…even with that tiny complaint, we couldn’t have gotten any sleep if it hadn’t come into our lives

I purchased this Graco swing back in August of 2021 when my son was born. Let me tell you my son loved it. He was soothed and calm every time I placed him on the swing it allowed me to get some rest. While I watched him swing. I recommend this swing for mom’s to be. You will not regret it.

I really liked this baby swing! It helped me with being able to put my baby down and relaxed her. The only thing i wish were different would be the mobile. The mobile doesn’t rotate and isn’t meant to. It doesn’t really move week without the swing either.

Huge hit in our house. The only dislike I have is the weight issue. My one baby was heavier than the other two and quickly became to heavy for the swing despite the 30lb weight threshold. She was too heavy for it and it began acting up when she hit 20 lbs. it was still worth the money and got the triple the use at our house

This swing is simple yet perfect. The pattern is gender neutral and so SO cute! I was worried about how loud it would be but it’s fairly quiet. We use this for our newborn while putting our five year old to bed in the same room and it doesn’t wake him. The fabric material is close to a neoprene feel and is easily wipeable but can always be fully removed to deep clean. The Graco Simple Sway Swing was overall easy to put together and ready to use within 25 minutes. This swing is very well made and simple to use. We like that this is a classic swing that sways side to side versus other swings that move in a circular motion - our little one is a big fan of this! It is very easy to strap in your baby and unbuckle with one click. This has been used many times to free up our hands knowing our baby is safe, comfortable and entertained. Our only complaint we have is the settings - level 1 is almost too fast for a newborn and we can't imagine what level 5 would be like! We love our simple sway swing that we received from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Some of the benefits of the swing are how we can change the amount of motion of the side to side sway as baby calms down over time. We also find the fit really nice. He was a larger baby when he was born, 9 lbs 9 oz but now he’s a long and lean green bean- and can still fit very comfortably and safely. As far as sound, I like the songs more than most baby equipment. I don’t think they’re as annoying as lots of things can be and the vibration settings along with the sounds are a nice touch. Having the opportunity to move the swing without needing batteries is so helpful also, but we also use the plug in setting depending on the area we have the swing in. I appreciate the more neutral color way of the swing, but I do wish it was beige instead of grey- but I know that is a very personal preference. The size makes it hard to fit your doorways, but I know it’s important to have a wide stable base.

Was gifted this from my baby shower. 6 speeds, baby loves this swing. He would stay in it all day if I let him. We have used it since day one. The motor works but sounds like it works extra hard. My baby is 4months old snd 14 lbs and usually uses speed setting 2 or 3. We are very please with this product. Little in the pricey side, but overall great product!

This swing is a lifesaver and probably one of the reasons why I am able to keep my sanity. We've been using it since our son's first week at home with no issues. I try not to use it too much but when I'm home alone and simply need a snack or bathroom break, or when my 11 lbs newborn wants to be rocked non-stop and my back is already killing me, this swing comes in handy. We never leave him unsupervised and always buckle up. He doesn't hunch over even when he is very sleepy. A few downsides: - As others mentioned, headrest is a little floppy, I had to improvise to make it sturdier - The swing itself is quite bulky and might take a lot of space. Might not be convenient if you need something portable to carry from room to room - Assembly was a little confusing - The noise it makes on maximum vibration setting and speed 3 is comparable to AC or running dishwasher, if you are annoyed by that that might not be a product for you

Our daughter needs someone to hold her 24/7 The only time she allows us to have a break is when she is in this swing it works like magic unlike the Mamaroo that we had which our baby did not enjoy. I usually let out baby sleep in the swing for 2 hours at a time three times a day. I would have liked if Greco would give advise if this is safe to do.

I bought this, hoping it would be better than the cheap one I got for free, this one does not want to swing, it’ll swing for a second and then stop, I have to keep swinging it myself, I thought maybe this would be worth the money but as im using it I should of just invested in something different, also the motor makes a really weird noise

I tried assembling this on my own at first and it was very difficult fitting the fabric covering over the bars. With help, I was finally able to get this step assembled. The rest of the assembly was very easy until it came time to attach the swing base to the poles it clicked into. This step was again very difficult and took some disassembling and reassembling, but we eventually figured it out. The swing seems very stable, all pieces are secured in place, and it was easy to figure out the music and movement settings. It’s easy to move around in our apartment if we want to switch it in and out of the nursery. No tools are required which makes it even better. Overall I am satisfied with the product for the price since I got it at a discount, hopefully baby feels the same!

Bought for my newborn. When ready to assemble a screws fell out of the leg that could not be put back in making the swing unable to properly work.

My 13 lb daughter was swinging on level 3 like she does almost every day and all of a sudden I heard a snapping sound and her seat completely broke from the swing itself. The pins that are supposed to snap in completely broke with the weight of her. If you say something is safe for 30 lbs you should test it. I'm so angry beyond belief and will be calling tomorrow.

We received this as part of our baby registry. Read the reviews online for Amazon and seemed like a good product. However, when opening up the box, there was no instructions. Nor did it come with a cord. We ordered a cord secondary to try to get the swinger to work and that cord did not work we are going to try to get D batteries to see if this will rectify the issue but it’s extremely disappointing should be recalled and we should all get our money Back.

Stopped working after 3 months, really disappointed.

I got this last year for my son. When it worked, it was great. Suddenly stopped working. Wanted to give it to a friend, so I went to put batteries in it to see if it was just the cord and it started smoking and cut off completely.

Terrible product. I got this for free from a friend but they no longer had the manual and it's mixing a pile support piece and a buckle. The model number and manufacture date is impossible to find. So glad I didn't spend any money on this piece of junk

Horrible instructions makes this harder than it needs to be to put together. The stars that dangle do not move on their own so you have to keep manually moving it. Vibrator does not work!! Straps cannot come off so its uncomfortable to lay on for babies. Swing motor makes a noise the entire time it is on. The swing levels do not matter because once baby is on swing, it slows down (my baby is 10lbs) when I take baby off it swings much further. It also takes up so much space, base is very wide, the width of an oven. It is not portable at all, unless taken apart (and putting it together already sucks.) Baby does like to be rocked, but I have to put a blanket underneath because it is deep. overall I give it a 4/10.

Swing only worked one day and niow doesn’t power on.This is a huge disappointment. I bought Graco products for my daughter and now for my grandchild but I recommend that people avoid buying this product.

I purchased this swing today. I just got home and was able to assemble it and test it out. It makes a TERRIBLE creaking noise anytime the swing rocks from one side to the next. Enough to keep any baby awake. Not sure how to fix this (maybe an issue with the gears?) but not satisfied at all.

We didn’t know how much our baby needed this swing. A big thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this infant swing! I didn’t think we needed anymore baby gear after our first child. However, this swing has quickly become baby number two’s favorite, our most valuable baby item, and has replaced both our swing and vibrating chair! Two main functions with two sources of power! We appreciate that it both vibrates and swings! Vibration: Our reflux baby loves the vibrating seat. It’s worth noting that the vibrating portion of the swing runs exclusively on batteries- not the plug. So you will need batteries to use the vibration feature. That being said, the batteries last a while. Swing: The side to side swing motion makes our baby less likely to spit-up than our front to back swing. (And speaking up baby messes, the swing is easy to clean; the spit-ups and blow-outs have cleaned up well in the laundry. ) The swing also has the capability of running on batteries, providing flexibility to use all the features of the swing anywhere on battery power. The music is actually nice. Most baby toys have annoying tunes that either get on your nerves or get stuck in your head. This has quite a number of classical songs which sounds like piano or strings playing, not robotic. And I find myself enjoying it, humming along. There is also a button for nature sounds, but we typically just play the music. The volume control is nice as well. The swing clearly soothes our baby. I used to have to baby wear a lot, but now he can relax in the swing and this Mama appreciates a break! We keep it in between the playroom/TV room area and the kitchen table, and just rotate the swing so he can face us wherever we are. The swing has 6 speeds, but 1 is plenty for us now at 9 weeks. If he starts to get drowsy (which is a testament to how cozy he gets in there), the straps come undone in a way that I can scoop him up without wrestling his arms out without disturbing him and put him into his bed. Swing is mostly white, so it coordinates with virtually any space. I appreciate that it isn’t outrageously colorful like some infant products are. The assembly instructions are poor. The diagrams are tough to decipher and the parts look similar. The instructions would be better if parts were labeled and it said to “put part A into part B.” I ultimately disregarded the instructions and assembled it just by looking at a picture of the swing- then referenced the instructions to make sure I didn’t miss anything. Once you figure out which part is which, they all click together easily. It feels well-built and sturdy. The straps are fully adjustable, and I feel my baby is safe in the swing. The swing is large. However, we quickly adapted when we realized how useful it is. Our baby loves it, which helps us stay sane, so it’s worth it. The “off” position for the vibration is in the center. You slide the button left for the small vibration or all the way right for larger vibration. You must take care that when you turn it off, you don’t accidentally slide past “off” and go to the other vibrating setting. Overall, we really enjoy this swing. It’s become a part of our routine: eat, go in the swing (vibration on, swing on, music on), tummy time and play, then sleep. I wrote this review at our kitchen table while he just chilled to my right; that's a huge win! He’s actually happy in there, which isn’t easy to say for fussy reflux babies. My toddler says he likes the swing too because the “baby cries less.”

At first I thought I was going to have to wait for my husband to help me assemble it (I normally hate assembling) but I gave it a go because o was too excited to wait and it was super easy! It has a battery or plug in option which really comes in handy. I didn’t have a swing for my first baby so I didn’t think I needed one for my second but since we’ve received it I’ve used it every day. My daughter LOVES it and instantly soothes her. Another major plus in my book is that the music it plays is classics music instead of “kid songs” so it doesn’t get on my nerves. Such a useful tool and doesn’t take up a ton of space.

I received this infant swing from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. As a first-time mom, this swing has been an awesome addition to my baby’s daily routine. I was pleasantly surprised that my 3-month-old thoroughly enjoys all aspects of this swing since he did not like the first infant swing we bought him. He LOVES this swing’s vibration and sway settings- these have rocked him to sleep before naps which has taken some stress off of me at times. I do wish the vibrating noise was a little quieter but I have gotten used to it since. I will sometimes turn the music setting on just to have a little something playing in the background. I find it very convenient that it can either run on batteries or be plugged into the wall. Plus, it is not too heavy which allows me to move it from one room to another, if need be. However, I have been keeping the swing mainly in our back living room since we spend the most time there especially when our nights are winding down. The swing is larger than I anticipated but we have room for it in our living space so it works for us. My husband put the swing together in about 10 minutes and the directions were straight forward. Overall, I definitely recommend this infant swing especially if your baby needs a little soothing before naps/bedtime.

The Graco Simple Sway Swing was just as it is titled! So simple to use & assemble, and our baby loved the sway feature of the swing. She had a swing that went back and forth, but she absolutely loved the side to side swing that this provided her. The swing has great support for our 90th percentile baby, she fit comfortably in it & the extra padding is amazing because you can remove it as your baby grows! The print of this swing is also very cute, and it fit comfortably in our entry way so we are easily able to transfer her from her car seat to the swing if we need to attend to something quickly, or are in the kitchen and able to watch her. The height of this swing also lets her see her environment, which is a must for her! The swing has soothing music, vibration & 6 different speeds which not all swings have. It is also great that the swing can be operated by either plugging it in, or batteries so you are easily able to take it around. The one caveat I will say is it is a little difficult to move around as the base is wider than other swings, but it provides great stability for your growing baby! the swing was a gift from a lovely couple who’s grandson didn’t use it . so they offered it to me and i took it because swings aren’t cheap ! my son swings it in and falls asleep in it a lot , however, the swing does NOT support his head like it’s “advertised” , he looks very uncomfortable in it as well which i wasn’t expecting . very disappointed .

I got this as a gift for my baby shower. It's been a really wonderful swing but now it makes an awful noise and is really loud 😞 but I love the different sounds and settings available and that you can plug it in.

Got as baby shower gift and was very excited but Just within a week it stopped working. It doesn’t turn on .tried with batteries and AC cord but if no use.Didn’t expect this from Graci as I have all graco products. After watching so many videos on YouTube looks like it’s a common problem like motor issue. One more thing noticed, if I keep rotating or swaying once in a while (1 out of 100) it turns on and then again goes back. so defective. Not sure how to fix it.

We are currently using this swing for baby #2. The vibrating sadly no longer works but it's still working fine otherwise. My first loved this swing and used it very often. It's also nice that it doesn't take up much space and plugs in to save batteries. We used to have the clicking issue that others have stated as well, but one day it kind of just stopped doing it and now the sound is fairly faint.

I got this for my baby (now 4 1/2 months) and it worked fine until about 2 weeks ago. If I have it plugged in, or with the batteries, or even both with the batteries as a back up, it just doesn’t turn on anymore. Mind you, I have two of this model swing, one for my house and one for my parents and BOTH have this issue. Considering I couldn’t even use it until she was about a month old, I haven’t even gotten more than 3 months of use out of it. Definitely not worth it if your baby is one who is a big fan of the swing as mine is.

I’ve been using this swing for five months with my baby and it has completely stopped swinging. I don’t leave my baby in it running for long periods of time. I’m super disappointed that it doesn’t swing because my baby loved it.

Was gifted this swing for my baby shower, my baby enjoys swinging in it for a few minutes a day, but I am extremely disappointed that the swing will not work, I’ve only had it for a few months my daughter is only 4 months old and she is well below the weight limit and we didn’t even set this swing up until she was around a month old but I went to turn the swing on today and it won’t work, tried unplugging the cord, tried a different outlet and it just will not work. This was one of the only “containers” we use for my daughter when I just need to put her down for a few minutes so I’m really disappointed that we can’t use it anymore.

i got the swing when my baby was 1month and my baby is now 2 months and the swing just doesn't work anymore

I used this swing 6 years ago with my first son and he loved it, so when I had my second baby this year I already knew which swing to get. I remember the swing picking up off the floor a bit with my first son but this swing is squeaking so loudly and sometimes it seems like the swing is struggling to sway, I wish I had gone with a different swing this time around. My baby loves swinging it’s almost the only way he can sleep sometimes but the squeaking is ruining it. I have recommended this swing to my mom friends but I honestly wouldn’t with the way this swing is making so much noise

I got this as a gift and im going to assume it was returned because it was missing the arms for the swing to attatch to the motor and the battery pack top was missing!!!!!! i cant return it because i dont know where she got it. So i have a broken swing to throw in the garbage now..

Giving this swing one star is being generous. We have gotten 2 of the same swings for our baby because he loved it so much! With the first swing the motor broke after not even a month! So we decided to buy another one, with the second one on the highest speed setting (6) it barely swings. LOL. My baby is 12lbs. The description says it can hold up to 30lbs. There is no reason this swing should be barely swinging. Not to mention the unbearable creaking noise with every sway.

Our baby loves this thing! It gives us 10-15 mins of peace and quiet before nap times when she’s getting grumpy. It’s well made and has worked well so far. My only complaint is the 5 point harness system always falls into the seat and if you’re there putting your baby in it alone, you have to set them down on all 5 pieces of the harness and then slowly one by one pull them all out. The straps aren’t long enough with a smaller baby to drape them over the edges to keep them out of your way. It’s great otherwise!

This is the ONE thing I wish I had for all 3 of my babies. We are on our third baby and I received the Graco Simple Sway Swing from the Stellar Product Testing Panel two weeks ago. This has been an absolute game changer for being able to put our baby down but still feel like she is interacting and part of the family. Our household is very busy and I need both hands free more than before. Typically I would use a pack n play in the living room or a floor mat but these are either more dangerous with kids and dogs in the house or they make me feel like I stuck her in the corner. The angle of the simple sway swing keeps my daughter fully engaged in the chaos of the dinner routine and I feel she is entertained with the movement, music, and vibration. It also has served as a means to rock her to sleep for a nap when we are busy during the day. We had moved it to clean the house and I found myself looking for it because we had begun to love it so much. It is very versatile with the ability to use batteries or plug into the wall. The swing is also aesthetically pleasing and is not an eye sore in the living room. The base width is a little large so you need an open space for it but that wouldn't hold me back from purchasing or recommending.

The Graco Simple Sway Swing has been a welcome addition to our home since adding a newborn to the mix with a toddler already present. Having a safe and secure place that I can leave my baby to rest while I juggle household management and his older sibling has been very beneficial! When my baby is particularly fussy (or overstimulated by said toddler), this swing provides a soothing experience where he calms down quickly with its gentle motion, sounds and vibrating. I can adjust the range of swinging intensity, start or pause the vibration, and adjust the sounds so it becomes an experience dialed in to his preference at that moment and allows him to settle quickly. The option to power the swing via outlet or batteries has been an appreciated feature that provides flexibility as I am able to move it around the house wherever I prefer, even if that space doesn't have an outlet available. It has settled in a cozy corner in our main living space that is easily accessible in our open layout, but I was able to try it in a few spots before landing there with the battery powered option. Its light colors and classic bunny pattern fit right in to our neutral home aesthetic which I appreciate in the sea of baby products that fills our spaces currently. This swing was easy to assemble as I was able to complete it solo, during nap time, and in under 30 minutes! If I could change anything, I would like to see the volume have the option to go louder as the sound is sometimes drowned out (again, toddler) and the fabric to be a more natural fiber. The side‑to‑side motion is soft and comforting. Speed 5 and 6 might be a bit much for us and our baby. Low speed settings already calms our baby with its right gentleness. Adjusting it is quick and easy. The seat is deep and very soft. She looks so comfortable every time she’s in it. I love the neutral ivy color, though it may be more noticeable if there are darker shades of stain. The 5-point harness is very secured. A good improvement would be adding a lock/unlock feature on the arm and waist harness connection. One of the unique features that makes it unique is the vibration option. It is quite subtle but effective. It has 2 intensities to select from. Another underrated feature is the white noise (bird icon). I noticed most of the baby swings have melody features but often forget white/baby noise which actually works better for baby. Even though it has battery option for power flexibility and mobility, I recommend using the direct power cord. The toys hanging above are a cute addition, adding a feeling of starry night for baby. Overall, as a parent, this swing helps me get a lot of rest. It really helps take away baby’s fuzziness most of the time.

This swing has been a literal savior for our almost-5-month old. When the 4-month regression started, it was the only way to soothe him during middle of the night wakes. It’s now our go-to way to extend our wake windows a bit and grab a few minutes of peace and some time to ourselves. We love that it can either be plugged in to the wall or used with a batter - it allows us to easily move it from room to room to keep an eye on our little one while he swings away. Hi baby is less than two months old and it’s already stopped working. So disappointed.

I got this about 3 months ago and got it ready in our nursery. Now that our baby is 3 weeks old, we have yet been able to use it (and probably never will) due to several problems. 1) Our baby slouches forward and the swing rocks way too fast on Level ONE (1)! 2) The swing seems unleveled since I had to place paper on the bottom to Prevent the entire swing swaying aggressively from the momentum. 3) The seat vibration doesn’t even work. I was so excited to use this to help my baby and I’m so disappointed. I hope this was a manufacture defect with so many issues. I’m way passed the return date and don’t even have my box anymore.

I am so upset this stopped working only after 3 months!!!! It's the only thing my daughter will sleep in!

Received this as a baby shower gift and although the swing function works the vibration motor makes a terrible noise and causes my baby to scream her head off when she hears it. The swing also needs a lower setting, when I have her in it on the lowest setting after a while she gets scared because it gets to going too high. I contacted customer service about the vibration motor and they helped all the way until it was time to ship a replacement motor, they apparently have a shipping freeze which makes no sense to me. I am an existing customer, I usually only use graco products for my baby yet I cannot get a replacement part for a faulty product. But you can purchase a new swing and receive it within a few days... doesn't make too much sense to me and really irritates me that they only care about new customers, not existing.

My mom bought this for our baby and it was great for the first couple months. But after about 4 months, the motor just completely stopped working. So the music and vibration still work, but the swinging (the whole purpose) is completely out of commission. Pretty disappointing.

I bought the graco duet smoothe for my parents house and the mamaroo for mine. Baby girl loves her graco duet smoothe, but wasn't into the mamaroo so I figured I'd order another graco for my house. She prefers the side to side motion so I went with this downgraded model. It is loud. It is shakey. It is cheap. My daughter is 14 lbs and when set higher than 4 speed, it looks like it could possibly tip over. Not to mention the unbearable sound of creaking and clicking. Sometimes it's so loud that it wake the baby. Don't waste your time or money. Go for the upgraded one!

What is swing and start working after a couple months I contacted Graco and they asked me to ship it back and I would get a refund after. I shipped it back they confirmed the return and they haven’t they never sent my money back I keep sending emails once a month to see if they are able to refund me and I get absolutely no response. They kept my money.

My baby has been loving this swing since birth and he is 3 months old now! Swing is a good price compared to other brands and we love the vibration feature. It would be nice if the vibration feature didn’t use batteries was connected to the plug in.

It swings. Is a little fast on the first setting and very creaky. Difficult to put together as there’s only pictures and no words and it’s hard to tell what part is what. I had to look up a youtube video to put it together. Not needing a battery for the vibration would be stellar as I’ve only had the swing 5 months and have had to replace the battery more times than I can count. It also doesn’t always turn on, I’ve had to turn it off and then on again multiple times before it would turn on. It was a gift so it works for now, but I personally wouldn’t buy this myself or for anyone else.

Did not work from the beginning we got it as gift on Amazon registry. Then we got replaced motor and it only worked 3 months and suddenly stopped. What a waste. It should be recalled

My first son who is under 2 didn’t care for this swing so we hardly ever used it. Now that my second son is here the swing is broken. We plug it in and it won’t turn on! We even bought a new adapter but it’s still broken. I assume it’s a motor issue. The exact same thing happened with our Graco bassinet. Broken for no reason in less than 2 years with little use.

It broke with 3 weeks of purchase. The motor went out.

My son is 6 weeks old and I have used it maybe 10-15 times and it sounds like the gears inside are broken. It’s making a loud noise and now has stopped swinging m. For something that was over $150 I didn’t think would fail so quickly. My son is just reaching 10 lbs. nowhere ear the weight limit.

Clearly Graco needs to stop selling it and figure out what is going on.

I have had this for 6 months and it works perfect. Not entirely sure about all the 1 star reviews. In the past I thought it wasn’t working but had to mess with the plug in a few times and it worked again. I love this swing, helps a lot when I have a lot to do and need to keep him occupied.

After the first 3 weeks the swing started to make a very loud noise. It doesn’t work properly anymore. I see reviews from years ago and they were great reviews. Bought for my first baby, after 5 months, the vibration now makes an awful squeaking/scratching noise, it was my daughters favorite spot due to the vibration, now that we can’t use it she just gets upset.

My 8 week old baby was in this swing when we noticed it started smoking!! If we would have left the room, he could have been burnt! We are so disappointed! We unplugged and removed the batteries, but it kept smoking from the top electrical box thing. So scary.

This has been a life saver so far highly recommend I have a toddler and a newborn so I've been a bit frazzled trying to find some structure and time to clean this has really helped.

I received a fisherprice swing that is way more expensive with way less features than the simple sway. I was a little worried given there was a recall on this swing but I have had no issues reported. My 1 mo. Is 10.5 lbs so he didn't have the head support issues reported. The motor is a bit loud but nothing my NB can't sleep through and the vibration setting helps with him when his gas makes him fussy, and it only takes one battery, unlike other bouncers that take 4. The classical music settings are really nice but I wish they had a white noise, Heart beat or womb sounds instead of tweeting birds- That gets annoying! The snaps on the back are nicely secure an it's easy to remove for cleaning but the baby seat it self seems shallow so you absolutely need to strap your baby into this one.

Our baby has loved this swing since he was a newborn. We received it secondhand and it still works perfectly, the only thing that didn't work when we got it was the vibration and I'm assuming that's just because of the batteries. It is also super easy to disassemble and clean which is a huge perk for me. My biggest complaint about these is that they lack color. Products for babies should be bright, saturated, and colorful so it's disappointing to have yet another bland product with grey stars. Who wants to look at grey stars??

I bought this baby swing for my granddaughter and am very disappointed in not the product necessarily, but T in the company itself. I wanted a swing that swings front to back, like a swing, for sure. If it went side to side as well that’s fine. Since the box that it came in clearly shows the swing with the seat turned sideways, therefore it would swing front to back instead of side to side. Then there was another picture showing it forward, which it would then swing side to side. So naturally I was sure the seat pivotted so it would swing both ways. I put the whole thing together and realize no they show it that way but it doesn’t go that way. I was tricked and would not have bought this swing if I knew this. Graco is deceitful.

I was SO excited to receive this Graco swing at my baby shower. It was one of the items I was most looking forward to using when we finally brought our baby home from the NICU. I had heard such great things and truly loved it when we first opened it and set it up. Fast forward to the day we finally get home with our baby emotional, exhausted, and just wanting something that would soothe her and the swing won’t even turn on. Nothing. No power, no movement, no lights. Completely dead. Which was super disappointing since she loved the swing that was in the NICU. After everything we went through in the NICU, the last thing we needed was a brand-new product failing right when we needed it most. We tried different outlets, checked batteries, made sure everything was assembled correctly and still nothing. It’s incredibly disappointing that something so expensive and highly recommended stopped working before we could even really use it. A baby product, especially one meant to comfort newborns, should be reliable. This was not. This has been beyond frustrating and heartbreaking.

I really wanted to love this swing but the experience was not ideal from the start. It was multiple pieces and steps that already had us rolling our eyes. It is lightweight which is great to move around the house but also feels pretty flimsy for the cost. The power options are both plug in and battery. We stuck to the plug in feature as we seemed to always have an outlet on hand where we moved the swing too. There are multiple battery compartments, one at the top and one on the vibration section. The overhead control box is a win and a loss. I like that my toddler cannot reach the buttons and mess with the settings while baby is swinging but it sits right in the way when putting the baby in and out, may or may not have bumped the baby’s head a couple times. Our baby enjoyed being in the swing and was content and the swaying motion and speeds are perfect. The mobile is also a cute feature. The swing was more of parent hassle. I've had this for 2 months and sometimes the motor swings sometimes it doesn't. Pretty bummed as I know these aren't cheap at all.

The swing is very soothing and swings nicely, but it is somewhat unstable. The bottom frame lifts up off the ground when the swing speed is above 1.

Used this swing for my first born for a few months. It then sat for a bit when I went to use a couple years later it had stopped working. Well taken care of. Motor must have issues. It's too bad because otherwise it's a great swing. Love the seat itself and vibration option

Worked for a time period but after not using for a while will not turn on with cord or with batteries. Very disappointing.

After we put it together, the unit had no power whatsoever. I would assume a faulty circuit board. Disappointed.

Baby loves the swing. Calming. Especially when an extra pair of hands is not available.

Purchased this as a gift to my nephew and he loves it.

This swing was perfect! Bought it to keep at my mom's for when she watches my kids, easy to assemble and move

Please please please don’t waste ur money on this swing its doesn’t worth a penny in so so disappointed its just work a couple of times now it just stopped working so disappointed

This swing stopped working after 4 months. I purchased this swing in February 2024 for my 2 month old baby. The swing stoped working June 2024. Google and other peoples reviews also experience this problem of the motor burning out. Graco should stop selling these lemons to consumers until they fix their problem. This swing is was too expensive to only last for 4 months. The base is also rickety and I had to put a weighted blanket on it to prevent the base from tipping side to side when the swing is on. We have lots of Graco products: two strollers, a pack and play, and this swing. After my experience with this swing I can’t in good faith trust Graco and buy any of their products again. Many people are saying the motor is burning out on this swing but Graco is still selling it. Seems criminal to take parents’ hard earned money on a product that is known to break in less than 5 months. Shame on you Graco!

Bigger footprint than the reviews/description let on. It's not what I would call easy to move from room to room but it can certainly be moved. You'll need at least a 4x4 foot square of space for the base in reality. The lowest setting for the swing is still pretty fast imo. My newborns head was being thrown from side to side on setting 1 and the base was lifting slightly from the ground on setting 2 so we haven't dared try the higher settings. We ended up having to buy an insert to support her head until she grows. Otherwise we like the shape of the chair. It holds her in a nice position and is very plush. I love the muted colors. I can't stand the bright plastic toys they make for kids these days. This is much less of an eyesore. The vibration feature requires batteries. it won't work with the electrical plug. The 5point harness is nice and secure and easy to use. Kind of wish the mobile rotated but tbh that is asking a lot. If it had a gentler speed this would be 5star.

Okay swing if your child likes it. It was too fast for my infant

Got this about 3 months ago as a baby shower gift and it has stopped working already. We've switched outlets put in and taken out and replaced batteries and it will not swing but does still vibrate. Wish it would have worked longer.

Purchased for my grandson right before he was born and he is 3 months old now and the vibration box stopped working I dont put him in the swing all the time and he would got right to sleep with vibration on low and if he was having a belly issue I would put on high and he would go to sleep then switch to low and once he was sleeping good I would turn the vibration off

Swing is excellent quality, baby loves it. It is alittle bit low so I have to bend every time I wanna use it but is otherwise amazing. it is a good quality and excellent for the baby.

The metal bars *crrreeeeeekkk*often. Like every sway. Haven’t found the solution for that. But, you get use to it. Lol but it’s not what I think of the swing. It’s definitely “Baby Approved!” In our house. He loves it. So I love it! Easy installation. Plugs in. Solid design. Good choice for the price.

Right out of the box it made this horrible clicking noise but I just assumed it was how it was supposed to sound. Well here we are three months later and the piece of junk it is doesn’t even work anymore. Doesn’t work plugged in… doesn’t work with batteries. Nothing. Don’t waste your money.

I got this used from my daughter for when we babysit grandson. It works as intended other than knob stops between speeds and won’t work unless green light is on. That is no big deal as long as you notice it. The reason I only gave 4 stars is because the mobile doesn’t turn. It works fine, just needs a moving mobile.

I’m not impressed. It’s been 10 years since I’ve had a baby and the Graco swing I had 10 years ago was so much better quality and easier to assemble. So far the vibration isn’t working at all. The buttons and stuff feel very cheap and overall I don’t expect it to last long. Had it not been a gift, I would pack it up and return

My baby likes to hangout in her swing while I’m getting work done and she even takes her afternoon nap in the swing. It’s pretty easy to throw the cover in the wash when needed and it’s definitely a staple for our baby. She’s coming up on 8 months now.
