    I've used both the Comomy and Toddleroo North States. The Comomy is nice for half the price, but installing it perfectly is a must. It's all square bars vs round/powdercoat on the North States. The mount on the Comomy is a round disc with an L-bracket; you can adjust height/angle with the disc, but the hinges have to be perfectly parallel or the latch won't grab. Took a lot of shimming and moving. They've held up well, no rattles, but only one mounted at the top of the stairs. If I didn't have a weird angle, I'd just use pressure gates.

  • Comomy works but tricky install, works for large openings

    We have this one. Plan on returning it if we can't make it work, but it's about a 50% chance it'll work. I installed it in a hallway on an angle and it's a pain to get it installed and shutting correctly. It is very sensitive to being plum/level. I had to install/uninstall a few times to get the placement right. The brackets allow for some movement but not enough to fix a significant gap from top to bottom. It works well now that it's installed.
