Source Threads

  • User preference for Regalo over Safety 1st despite ease of use

I've had both Safety 1st and Regalo. The Safety 1st ones are fine and easy to install but the screws would always come loose. The Regalo ones are a BITCH to get just right but once they're in, they're in, and I haven't had to adjust them at all. We have 2 extra tall ones and they're awesome.

  • Caution against pressure-mounted gates at top of stairs

Don't use pressure mounted at the top of the stairs... if you have wood banisters and drywall to mount into there is a kit for that. We used the Summer Infant metal gate at the top of the stairs.

  • Frustration with auto-close magnetic latch reliability

I have one of these and the door won't stay closed. The magnet doesn't seem to be strong enough. When I push the door closed, it slowly swings open. I can't see any way to fix it. It's just not doing its job anymore.

  • Humorous take on baby gate inconvenience for adults

I literally just put this same gate up a few days ago. Step 1 is now impossible and I hate it. It's a good gate but good lord does it make life harder for the adults.
