  • Durable and long-lasting, but some practical drawbacks

Came to say the same! I was gifted a chicco umbrella stroller at my baby shower with my first, fall of 2009. I've used it nonstop over the course of 15yrs with 3 kids + my nephews, and its still in amazing condition!! Most useful gift I've ever received! Looks like they're still made the same but with ergonomic handles now. Its called the Chicco Liteway. Not sure which I have and the tag came off so I can't confirm but it looks just like ours.

  • Praised for full recline and travel suitability despite bulk

I have a chicco liteway that’s perfect for this. We also have a vista which is great because it’s super comfy, can hold both of my kids if needed, and the basket can hold everything but the kitchen sink. But my baby is 9 months now and I’m starting to use the liteway more for quick trips or outings to the playground where I don’t need to bring much stuff.

  • Detailed comparison with Maclaren, noting feature trade-offs

I love the Liteway. It honestly has more features than the Triumph like an adjustable footrest and the basket transforms into a back pack, the recline is done with a lever not a strap (don't remember how the Triumph reclines) and lies almost flat, good for naps on the go. That and the wheels are single in the front, which I prefer. And the price. I find the Liteway more comparable with the Quest than with the Triumph.

  • Recommended as reliable travel stroller option

For travel, if you’re going before baby is ~6 months, you could take one of the Chico infant seats. They are FAA approved to install in plane seats, and are really easy to install without a base in rental cars/ubers, so good for travel. You could either borrow a compatible stroller or spend about $100 for a Chicco Liteway travel stroller that the infant seat will snap right into, then use the stroller as your travel stroller without the car seat for the next few years.
