New Ingenuity ConvertMe 2-in-1 Swing & Infant Seat (Swell)
The Ingenuity ConvertMe 2-in-1 Swing & Infant Seat is a convertible baby swing that transforms into a stationary seat, designed for infants from birth to 9 months (up to 20 lbs). It offers 5 swing speeds, vibrations, 12 melodies, and 4 nature sounds, powered by 4 D batteries (for swing and sounds) and 1 C battery (for vibration), with an included USB cord as an alternative power source. Product dimensions are 22" x 23.5" x 23" and it features a foldable, portable design; however, user reviews note that the swing requires a manual push to start, has potential motor reliability issues, and that battery life may be short, limiting its true portability.

Bouncer worked fine
Bouncer worked fine. Was a little worried when it showed up but it was perfectly fine!
Reddit Insights
5 threads · r/Buyingforbaby, r/beyondthebump, r/parentsofmultiplesReddit users generally consider the Ingenuity ConvertMe Swing-2-Seat a budget-friendly, space-saving option with mixed reliability, praising its dual functionality but warning about potential motor failures, battery dependency, and a misleading 'portable' claim.
While many appreciate the value, dual use, and small footprint, frequent complaints about motor stopping, battery reliance, and quality issues balance out the positive experiences.

- Space-saving swing for small homes
- Portable swing for travel or room-to-room movement
Watch Out For
Community Q&A
- Does the swing automatically start swinging?
- No, you must push the swing to start it; the motor only maintains the motion after an initial push.
- Is it truly portable?
- Partially – it folds and is lightweight, but some models require constant USB power or frequent battery changes, limiting true portability.
- How long does the motor last?
- Mixed reports; some units fail after weeks or months, especially if the sensor misaligns or gears wear out, but others last through multiple children.
Compared To
vs Mamaroo
Users consider Ingenuity as a much cheaper alternative to Mamaroo, with some finding it works just as well for babies who didn't like the Mamaroo, while others note the Mamaroo has more features and better portability with AC adapter.
vs Graco DuetSoothe
Graco DuetSoothe is preferred for twins due to longer battery life and better performance, while Ingenuity is seen as lighter and more portable but with faster battery drain.

Positive first-hand experience with speed and dual functionality
We bought this swing to replace a bulky hand-me-down. It’s a great value – compact, folds easily, and my baby loves the vibration and music. Assembly was a bit tricky but manageable. The swing needs a push to start but maintains speed well. I’d recommend it for small spaces.

Mixed feedback on portability and newborn fit
Great for small apartments – it’s light and foldable. But 'portable' is misleading; you need to be near an outlet for the USB model. My newborn looked a bit slumped in it even on the recline setting, so I used rolled blankets. Overall, it served its purpose as a second swing.

Budget-friendly alternative to Mamaroo
We had a Mamaroo that my baby hated, so we sold it and got the Ingenuity for a fraction of the price. It worked way better for us – she napped in it for months. Yes, it uses batteries, but rechargables solved that. If you want a simple swing without spending $250+, this is solid.

Troubleshooting motor stop and sensor issues
Ours stopped swinging after 3 weeks. It would start then slow down and stop even with fresh batteries. I read that the sensor gets misaligned – some people fixed it by adjusting the seat or tightening screws, but nothing worked for us. Returning it.

Comparison for twins: Ingenuity vs Graco
We have twins and got two Ingenuity swings on sale. They’re ok – portable and light, but batteries die every few days. The motor started making grinding noises on one after 2 months. Switched to Graco DuetSoothe and it’s holding up much better, though it’s bulkier.
