Compared To

vs WayB Pico

WayB Pico is preferred for younger toddlers, but RideSafer is a good cheaper alternative for older kids; one CPST prefers WayB until child outgrows it.

vs Bubble Bum

BubbleBum did not position belt as safely as RideSafer, especially for younger/smaller kids.

  • Ridesafer vest for travel with 3 yo – positive experience and comparisons

Highly recommend this for short trips where you don’t want to bring a huge car seat... We got the RideSafer Travel Vest for our 3yo for our last trip. It was great. It’s not approved for planes, and I wouldn’t use it to replace a car seat for longer trips at his age (we live in LA so lots of driving) but for quick trips on vacation to not need the car seat, it’s amazing. Also like the ride safer vest. FWIW, bubble bum did not work well for us and, imo, did not position my kids or the belt as safely. (It was okay for my 9 year old, but not great for my 7 year old. Both my kids are small for their age.)

  • Ridesafer Travel Vest praised for one-bag travel and ease in Ubers

i'm currently on a 14hr flight home from a family wedding in Asia w/my 3 kids (9, 3 & 10m), traveling carry on only. ... the 3yo has a "ride safer" car harness and a small collapsible stroller (also gate check). ... editing to add: I've traveled extensively with all my kids starting from their first vaccines. I've traveled solo internationally with littles. it's very doable if you are willing to suffer thru the transit sometimes

  • Ridesafer Vest for Ubers: convenient and drivers don’t mind, but practice needed

We used Ride Safer (I think that's the name). It was a harness that is used in place of a car seat. We used it for several trips and it was awesome. Uber drivers don't seem to care. It worked on planes, too. ... We use the saferider harness vest for travel. It meets or exceeds federal motoror vehicle safety standards forchild restraint systems, and operates as a forward facing car seat harness. We use ours for ride sharing and travel options and as our emergency seat option if the grandparents need to suddenly get him and dont have their booster seat with them.

  • CPST mom review: prefers WayB Pico for younger kids, but RideSafer good for older kids and narrow fit

I prefer using the WayB Pico car seat before graduating to the RideSafer Vest. I can see myself using this lot though when my son grows out of the Wayb Pico. ... The RideSafer vest is very convenient when using Ubers/Taxis and even when you’re trying to get three kids in a row. ... Yes. The RideSafer Vest is rigorously tested and has passed all required safety standards. However, it’s important to follow the instructions carefully for proper use. The manufacturer has approved use as young as two years old but as CPSTs, we recommend waiting until they are five. ... The biggest issue ... is that young kids don’t always want to sit upright in a car. ... A big tip to solve this is having them sit with their legs folded (crisscross apple sauce).

The diamond-shaped panel can slide up and down along the harness and the velcro tab that determines the vest’s length can be affixed either to the diamond or basically anywhere along the back strap. ...
