Community Q&A
- Can the Baby Trend Nursery Center be used as a primary sleep space from birth?
- Yes, many parents use the bassinet level for newborns, but note the mattress is firm and some add a softer topper.
- Is the Baby Trend pack n play easy to set up and take down?
- Mixed; some find it straightforward, others say the locking mechanism can be tricky and the bag has no handles.
- How does Baby Trend compare to Graco?
- Graco generally has better build quality and easier setup, but Baby Trend is more affordable and has unique features like the flip-away changing table.
Compared To
vs Graco Pack 'n Play
Graco is easier to set up and has a thicker mattress, but Baby Trend is significantly cheaper and offers a flip-away changing table.
vs Baby Trend Retreat Twins Nursery Center
The Retreat model has two bassinets for twins but is harder to find, while the standard Nursery Center is more common and can be used for multiples in a pinch.

Baby Trend vs Graco: Value and ease of setup comparison
We bought a baby trend one on super clearance, only $50, and then someone gave us a Graco one. The Graco one is easier to take down, the baby trend one kept locking up and I wasn't able to take it down without my husband's help. They both have changing tables that work just fine. They both have music that plays but we can't get the Graco one to work anymore. I feel like they both have pluses and minuses, but I like the baby trend one more.

Using Baby Trend as primary bassinet for early months
I have a similar graco one that also had a vibrating feature, music, and night light. I used it daily for the first 6 months. I loved that it grew with baby at different stages and the actual mattress in the pack and play was a lot thicker in comparison to other brands. I never invested in a changing table so the changing table part was used constantly and still looks brand new!

Experience with Baby Trend for twins: mattress and vibration notes
I like that you are able to make it a bassinet by being able to put the mattress up high or down low, only problem is that the mattress is uncomfortable, it feels hard and with only a bit of cushion so I would advise to buy something to fix that. I also like that you can slide the canopy away and flip away the changing table. Their are 5 compartments, 4 are on the side (the diaper compartment, one for wipes, and 2 besides the wipes) the other one is a big one in the front of the play yard. I also was surprised to find a device that has a night light, classical music options and small children musical options, nature sounds option, and the option to vibrate to shake the play yard a bit! (Needs 4AA batteries and a screwdriver to put batteries). The play yard also comes with wheels on one side to move it very easily. Only downer again is the hard mattress and I wish they had different, brighter color options.

Overall thoughts on Baby Trend brand quality and affordability
I am using a Baby Trend Nursery Center for this DD that I bought for ODD in 2012. The only real durability issue I see is with the diaper changer - it attaches with plastic circles that have changed color from the stress on them. They look like they may break, it's a design flaw IMO. I never even used it, just attached it & swung it out of the way. Other than that, it's in perfect condition after being used daily by us for 1 year, and used the same amount of time by my SIL & BIL. ETA the Baby Trend you linked doesn't have the diaper changer I'm talking about & the Graco you linked doesn't look like it attaches the same way. Guess they figured it out!!!.

Considering Baby Trend Retreat Twins Nursery Center
This play yard is awesome. I haven't got to use it but I definitely wish I had it with my first child. This is a great choice especially if you don't have much room. First off it was fairly simple to put together even being 36 weeks pregnant. The color is actually really nice which was one thing I was worried about. I heard mixed reviews that some came with a mobile but mine didnt. Its fine though, the giraffes are really cute. The mattress pad is actually softer than I expected although I did still order the Graco Dream
