We have the Evenflo top of stairs gate and it’s been great. The hardware mount is super sturdy. We have a banister on one side so we used the zip tie method to mount a 2x4 and then screwed the gate into that. Works perfectly.

Evenflo top of stairs gate worked for us. Installation was pretty straightforward, but we have a straight wall on both sides. I could see it being a pain if you have an angled banister.
