Detailed review and tips for using the SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack for a rolling baby
We’ve been using the SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack for about 2 weeks now with our 3.5 month old who started rolling. It's been amazing! He sleeps so much better than in a regular sleep sack. The half sleeves with cuffs closed give him just enough resistance to prevent the startle reflex from fully waking him, but he can still push up if he rolls. We tried the Zipadee-Zip but he hated having his hands covered. This one allows him to eventually self-soothe by sucking on his fingers once we open the cuffs. The only downside is the neck seems a bit wide and can gape, but overall highly recommend. For size reference, he's 14 lbs and we're using the small (0-3 month) and it's a perfect snug fit.

Comparing transition swaddles and recommending SwaddleDesigns for rolling 3-month-old
We had the SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack recommended to us by our pediatrician when our 3 month old started rolling onto her side. It's the best thing we bought. She went from waking every hour to sleeping 6-7 hour stretches. We use it with both cuffs closed still because she has a strong Moro reflex, but she can still move her arms enough to be safe. I was between this and the Zipadee-Zip but went with this because of the arms up position and the safety aspect if she rolls. No regrets! It's a little pricey but worth it for sleep.

Parent shares success using SwaddleDesigns as part of transition from swaddling
I used the SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack for my twins after they outgrew the SwaddleMe swaddles. They slept much better than in a regular sleep sack and it eased my anxiety about rolling. I love that you can open the cuffs later so they can self-soothe. It's a true transitional product, unlike convertible sleep sacks that just remove sleeves. The quality is great, it washes well. I sized up to the medium a little earlier than weight recommendation, but it fit fine. Definitely recommend this brand.

Discussion on safety of transitional swaddles, with SwaddleDesigns mentioned as a safer option
I was worried about transitional swaddles being unsafe for rolling, but after reading up I found the SwaddleDesigns one is actually designed with safety in mind. The half sleeves allow baby to push up, unlike some others that restrain arms in a way that could be dangerous. We used it for our daughter from 3-6 months and it worked great. She had a strong startle reflex and this helped without compromising safety. Make sure to get the right size because if it's too big the neck could be loose.

Recommendation for SwaddleDesigns with caution about sizing and neck fit
I love the SwaddleDesigns Transitional Swaddle Sack. We used it from 2.5 months until 5 months when my baby could self-soothe fully. It helped so much with the startles. The only issue is the neck fits a bit wide on my petite baby, so I had to sew a small tuck to keep it from riding up. But overall, best transition product out there. It's breathable cotton, not too hot. My baby preferred the arms up sleep position and this was perfect.
