New Britax Poplar S Convertible Car Seat 2-in-1 Slim 17-Inch (Stone Onyx)

I love this Convertible car seat! The color is perfect for any boy or girl, neutral gray soft and light. It fits my infant in snuggly but also converts to a toddler seat fitting my 4 year old just as nicely. This is plenty of room to grow. The quality of this car seat is great and my little one looks more comfortable in this than some other brands we tested first. The click tight is super nice making it super easy to install and uninstall if needing to move to another car. The o my reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars was because of the headrest comfort. Some other ones had head tests in both sides for stability, this one did not.

This seat is a great addition to the Britax line! It has all the amazing features you’d expect, but the seats are slimmer. I love how I could fit three in a row!!! The seat is heavy, sturdy and comfortable. Easy to adjust. Will last for years!! Easy to switch from rear facing to forward facing. High quality fabric. I could go on and on. If you’re looking for a new seat you can’t go wrong here!

This car seat is fabulous. It adds so many features the others Britax seats lack (3 across, cup holders). The Clicktight feature is the reason we bought it because ease of install is critical for safety. We returned our other slim seat as it didn’t stay tight and needed constant adjustments which is a safety issue especially in the car we let our nanny use.

I have been long fan of Britax car seat. This is a great option for your kiddos. This keeps your child longer in more sturdy car seat. The only thing is that it is ubber heavy. It’s really hard to move in and out our your car. Cover washes great but putting it back on it kind La hard. I wish it would turn 180 like nuna does. Then this will be perfect

Im sure compared to most this car seat has its perks and cons. For the amount, i hope it will last and not fall apart or my grandson hopefully wont out grown too fast. It adjust to the childs growing needs which is a major plus. I just hope it meets up to all it hypes up to be and safety is a huge issue.

The seat is okay, unfortunately it has a weight limit and cannot be used for long term unlike many other ones on the market. The use and portability of this seat are limited and I cannot wholeheartedly reccomend it.

First off this is a very plush car seat that is made for comfort. I would not hesitate to take a long car trip and know that my child will be comfortable and safe for the duration. We have always been loyal to the Britax brand and I love how seamless this is for transitioning from the newborn stage. The seat is slim which is great for compact cars. Your child can ride rear facing for up to 50lbs which is important to me. Easy installation with their click tight installation and I actually feel confident that I installed it right. Happy with my purchase- washable, adjustable, easy install, and you can use from birth - what more could you want?

Had to wait because this was on back order. My daughter who is two and talking was over the moon for her new car seat. She LOVES that it is PINK. I love that the expiration is good for 10 years and that this chair will be with her throughout all her time in a car seat, since it is a room to grow type. She is still rear facing just because I’m most comfortable with her being that way at least until after winter. Super easy install. And it’s quite the luxurious little car seat. I would absolutely be comfortable taking a road-trip and knowing my little one is comfy in her seat. This is a great buy for new parents! Since it’s ready from birth, you don’t have to worry about changing out car seats and making sure they will fit your child. You can take this one for the ride home from the hospital and it will last years! I’m not planning on having multiple children, but it is awesome to note that they are slim enough to put three of them in a back seat without having safety concerns. I also like how you wash out the liner and keep this clean for years to come!

Our family has always used Britax for car seats. They’re quality seats that last through the years. Poplar is no exception. It’s heavy with a metal frame, easy install, and lots of different positions. The one thing I don’t really enjoy is the head rest doesn’t seem to provide the same padding as their other convertible car seats, since the semi-rounded but flatter and not shaped to the head. I do love the cup holders, they’re removable!

The car seat was super heavy and bulky we use the Diono and it fits three but this one is so bulky that it make two a bit tight. I think That this is very durable seat and would stand the test of time. It seems comfortable and my kid did well in it, took it in grandmas car as his seat for that car and she said the installation was quick and easy. We do have it rear facing currently and it did well.

I am so excited to arrive my Britax car seat , we delay a little bit purchasing because we were waiting for the confirmation of the doctor of the beats of my baby so yesterday we purchase it , not without checking it at target , the materials are so soft, and safe. Very well padded! Suuuuper thick cushions. Seems like it is very high quality. The straps for the neck cushion actually harness to the back of the seat so they aren’t sliding down and all over the place like other car seats which is really nice. My little one is enjoying this car seat and I feel he is safe because it got excellent safety ratings.

Wow this car seat is great. It’s so soft and cozy for the baby. I love the buckle that is has instead of the usually chest clip style. It makes it easier to unclip. The adjustment strap is a little hard to loosen and tighten. But in all this is a great car seat !

We’ve used it for over a year when baby was 5 months to now 19 months and I’ve never been a fan of the straps. There is this hard rubber for no. Slip on the back of the pads that cause an indent on baby. The customer service was not very helpful. They said to just put the straps behind the seat cushion. I’ve done that for the past year and the straps seem to slide off the shoulders if you’re not careful, like they are made just a little too far apart. I don’t feel like my child is very safe in there sometimes and have to finagle the straps constantly, which also leave an indent on her neck. Wish I could have returned it as soon as I got it but here we are. My son has a different Britax model that’s been fantastic and so comfortable for him.

This is our 8th Britax car seat, so we love the brand, just not this particular seat. Loosening and tightening the harness is more difficult than it should be, the lever to hold while loosening the straps is buried under layers of fabric and the strap to tighten them is against the seat of the car. Our baby gets car sick often and it is a nightmare to clean. The shoulder pads are not removable, so we cannot wash the smell out of them. I do not believe the straps or favorite around the rebound bar are removable either, if they are, we haven’t figured it out. The pieces that do come off don’t go back on as nicely, so we have an expensive car seat that looks and smells awful. The click tight function seems to be very temperamental compared to our other click tight car seats and I find myself having to manually unlock the bottom of the seat before pushing it down. The head rest adjust nicely, and it looks very cushy. If knew 9 months ago what I now, I would have kept our marathon opted for another brand.

Didn't require any assembly aside from attaching cup holders. Very easy to understand instructions and quick install. Previously had revolve 360 carseat which was the complete opposite so I triple checked to make sure I did it right because I couldn't believe how simple it was! Also very sturdy once in place, it doesn't budge a bit. My 2 year old is able to climb in by himself and connect most of the pieces with some adjustments by myself to make it just right. My only complaint is it's awkward and a tad difficult to adjust the straps, but once I figured it out it's no problem. Instead of pushing a button down near the pull strap down you must push it in which was just different from normal. Otherwise 10/10 experience. Hope it's as easy to take apart to wash if so it's a must try!

We needed an extra car seat for my husband’s work car and we were so excited to try this seat out. We have a Graco Extend2Fit and a Chicco NextFit Max Zip Air in our personal cars. They all have their pros and cons. This seat was by far the easiest to install. The Clicktight technology would make this seat easy to take in and out. Our boy feels secure and comfortable in the seat.

This seat is super easy to install with the ClickTight installation. I love that system! I wish this seat were an all in one or that it at least had a higher weight allowance for forward facing because it's actually pretty limited. I had to return the first seat sent to me because I received a return and it was clearly very mishandled in shipping as well. The replacement seat I was sent had the latch storage compartment lid popped off but I was able to get that back on myself since it shouldn't compromise the safety of the seat. Customer service was able to handle everything quickly and easily!

I love how sturdy this seat is! My son is 19 months and has plenty of room to grow. He can move his legs around way more than his previous seat. This will help keep him rear facing as long as possible. The seat is adjustable in recline which is also nice. The click tight feature makes installation a breeze! The whole seat has a great cushion and soft feel. The texture of the fabric makes it cooling and not too hot. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is due to the shoulder straps. They ate thick and long which I love! However the have a grip texture on the bottom side which sometimes rubs my sons skin. I have to be very careful to ensure I pull the fabric of his shirt up high enough to create a barrier between the strap and his skin.

I am extremely disappointed with Britax's poor design choice for the harness pads to not be removable and sponge cleaned only. Whoever is responsible for this design decision should be fired, so stupid. If I had known about this, I would have never bought the seat. The product info, which says the covers are removable and machine washable fails to mention this, very misleading. On top of that, the fabric is pilling and looking bad after only a few months, unacceptable. I will be telling anyone I know to not buy this car seat. Shame on you Britax.

Loved this seat so much for my first that we bought 2 more for our twins so we now have 3 kids in poplars. easy installation, butter smooth tightening for the straps, and they are very compact without compromising comfort. their customer service is also fantastic which is important when making such an expensive purchase.

Britax. Can I ask WHY the strap pads are connected to the car seat? Why would these not be removable to easy washing? Which leads me to my next point… why are there so many elastic loops in impossible to reach hooks that hold the cushions in place. Car seats have to be washed. Their ease in washing ability is what makes or breaks a car seat for me. I love this car seat but zero stars for its wash ability. Also, the anchors are not click connect, they are the incredibly frustrating squeeze latch thing. 0/10 recommend. You definately want the quick and easy latches that are just like car seat buckles.

When our previous convertible car seat was recalled, I began looking for a replacement option. I had always heard Britax was a reliable brand and was drawn to the 50lb rear facing limit of the Poplar. The click tight technology makes for an extremely easy installation and the seat feels very tight and secure once installed. My son seems comfortable and I like that the sides are slight lower than our previous seat, which makes it easier to get him in and out. The only negative I’ve run into so far (which is more just an adjustment vs. our previous car seat) is that the harness release button is sometimes hard for me to find/reach. This is my first narrow car seat and I’m happy with it, there are just a few things I don’t love. I initially bought it for my youngest, so I set it up for her. The shoulder pads are only to be used for certain ages, so I had to remove them for her. I like the idea of them not being able to come completely off, but the storage spot was hard to figure out. My plans changed since my youngest still fits in her infant seat so I adjusted the seat for my oldest. I put the pads back on and adjusted it for forward facing instead. I don’t love the set up for the forward facing strap. I put this in a GMC Yukon and had to make it way longer, then moved it to a Chevy 2500 which had to be as short as possible. The strap is not very easy to adjust when you’re in tight quarters. Everything else I’ve loved about the seat. Super easy to adjust the buckle placement, recline, height, etc. I love the ease of installment with the ClickTight system. That is what sold me on the Britax brand to begin with. Both kids were very comfortable in the seat; I found my youngest sitting in it all the time before I got it installed in the vehicle. Installing this car seat was a breeze and I really took a liking to this click-tight system- makes me confident that my baby is riding safely. The cushions look way more luxurious in person than in pictures and I see the Poplar lasting for several stages. Aside from being a convertible car seat, that will transition to forward facing, it has a lot of head positions so if my baby needs the height i'm certain it will accommodate! It's nice that the Poplar is set up so you can add the stability bar if you're fixated on that. My only wish is that Britax made a way to add a canopy for extra shade like many infant car seats already come with. The car seat is very nice quality. Out of the box you can see a lot of labeling for where things should go and how to install. The instructions are very simple and when I wanted a visual example there are several on YouTube. After following the YouTube video I had the car seat installed and used the recommended seat belt method. Using the seatbelt was even less intimidating than the lower anchors because of the click tight technology. One of the biggest draws of this car seat was the promise of front to back space saving. It is a much better fit than our maxi-cosi infant car seat. Thankful it still seems very roomy for the baby. The only negative I ran into is that we are using this for our 40 percentile 5 month old and I wasn’t sure if the harness pads needed to be used for her. (They don’t). After some searching and googling I was able to find the answer.

We love Britax products. This is our second one to put in another car. We love the comfort it provides for our kids. They love sitting in it. It thick and heavy, which provides optimal safety and ease of parents minds. It is super easy to install and installs very securely compared to other brands. The only down side is that it’s heavy - although I prefer it heavier for safety reasons. I highly recommend this product!

We absolutely love this seat. The install is a breeze, my kids prefer it comfort wise over our old gracos. The extended rear facing limits are fantastic, our 4.5 year old is still comfortably rear facing in hers. Easy to assemble and wash. Very slim side to side and incredibly compact front to back.

This car seat is amazing. It’s beautiful, it’s strong, and easy. Installation was a breeze, and I thank britax for putting clear instructions on the seat insert stating under 22lb, you must use it rear facing. My 13 month old is 19lb and I definitely took the insert out before seeing the warning on it! The shoulder pads are amazing as they don’t fall down because they have grippies on them! My daughter was no longer liking the infant seat which is why I got this one and now, she loves sitting in her big girl car seat!

We recently got this seat as our daughter was outgrowing her infant seat and we’re in love! It’s so beautiful and comfy. We picked the S as there was more cushion/padding included and I’m glad we did. We did notice that Britax car seats tend to have shorter crotch straps, but she still fits in this comfortably And has no problems with the buckle. I’d highly recommend this seat!!

So thankful for the opportunity to get use this car seat as we were in the market for one. Absolutely love this one. We currently have the Uppababy one for our toddler and this one is much less bulky but still provides amble support and safety. Very secure! Definitely can’t go wrong with this one.

I got this as a car seat for my vehicle. I really like it for my child. Love the color and the fit for my child is perfect. It was easy to install in my car. Looking forward to converting it as my girl gets bigger. I do recommend it!

We wanted to wait for this review until after our big up-north trip, and I am SO happy I did because it was AMAZING! My daughter who NEVER naps anymore since being forward facing, napped half the trip because she was so comfortable! The ClickTight installation system is a game-changer. It makes installing the seat so easy and secure—no more wrestling with seat belts or worrying if it’s in right. The built-in lock-offs and LATCH connectors are straightforward, making the whole process quick and hassle-free. My daughter loves this seat! It’s super padded and comfy. The adjustable headrest and harness will grow with her, so she’s always snug and happy. Plus, there are multiple recline positions for rear-facing babes. The Britax Poplar has a nice compact design. It’s roomy enough for my daughter but doesn’t take up too much space in the car. It would definitely fit well in smaller cars, and even in our large SUV we needed a seat that could fit with multiple in the 3rd row. Overall, I’m super happy with the Britax Poplar car seat.
