Introduction to Evil: It's not what you think, and that's okay - an owner's perspective
It's designed to be a simpler, streamlined version of the original game, aimed at people who've never played. They removed the Fate Token, simplified the wording on cards, and gave you 2 Power to start. It's a great game for families or new players. But yeah, Jafar and Queen of Hearts not being in the game is a bummer, and my old villain guide cards don't work with the new boards. It's not a replacement for the original if you already have it.

Should I buy Introduction to Evil?
If you are new to Villainous, yes! It's the perfect entry point. The rules are clearer, setup is faster, and the villains are some of the easiest to learn. If you already have the base game and expansions, you might be underwhelmed. I bought it for the exclusive movers and the ability to teach friends more quickly. Works great at 2 players.

I'm a sucker for this game and I think Introduction to Evil has the best box art and color scheme yet. The limited edition nature and the 100th anniversary branding make it a must-buy for collectors. The updated language on cards is a big plus, even if you own the originals. The movers are beautiful.

How do you feel about the new Disney Villainous Introduction to Evil?
I love the simplified rules for teaching new players, but missing Queen of Hearts and Jafar hurts. The art is gorgeous. It says 2-4 but really shines at 2-3. My only gripe is that the old goal cards don't fit the new boards, so you can't mix and match villains from the base game as easily. Still, a solid purchase if you want a lighter version.

What's the deal with Disney Villainous?
Villainous is a great asymmetrical game with beautiful production. It can be a bit long at higher player counts, and there's a lot of 'take that' with Fate cards. The Introduction to Evil version fixes a lot of the complexity issues for beginners. If you're on the fence, start with that one. The 2-player experience is the tightest.

Hot take: Ravensburger is a better dev than...
Ravensburger really delivered with Introduction to Evil. They listened to feedback and made a more accessible product. The fact that they even included a Lorcana promo card in later printings shows they care about cross-promotion and fan service. Some say it's a cash grab, but I think it's a love letter to new players.
