Community Q&A

Can the Cosco Finale be used rear-facing?
No, it is forward-facing only, starting at 30 lbs in harness mode.
Is the Cosco Finale good for air travel?
Yes, it is very lightweight (around 11-12 lbs) and easy to carry through airports or gate check, but not for use on the plane as a booster (harness mode only on planes if allowed by airline).
How does the Cosco Finale fit three across?
At 18 inches wide, it is one of the slimmest combination seats and fits three across in many mid-size sedans, SUVs, and minivans.

Compared To

vs Cosco Scenera

The Finale is a step up from the Scenera for older/heavier kids, slightly taller and heavier but still very light. Some parents transition from Scenera to Finale when child outgrows the Scenera.

vs Wayb Pico

Unlike the Wayb Pico, the Finale is much cheaper and can be used with 5-point harness up to 65 lbs. The Wayb Pico is a forward-facing only portable seat with no harness after 40 lbs.

vs Bubble Bum

The Bubble Bum is an inflatable booster, but parents prefer the Finale for its 5-point harness for younger/squirmier kids.

  • Travel car seat recommendation between Cosco Finale and Wayb Pico

We have a tall 3.5yo (wears 5t) who outgrew the Cosco Scenera and we just bought the Cosco Finale 5 point harness booster. The Finale is a touch taller and heavier than the Scenera but still fits fine in our generic car seat bag. We’ve checked the Scenera multiple times when flying and it’s held up fine. ... The thing with boosters, including the wearable harness, is that they’re for kids who are old enough to sit upright on their own, and our 3.5yo is still squirmy and slouchy when she’s tired and fussy aka travel days, so while technically she fits in a wearable harness, my understanding is that the seat with the 5 point buckle is still safer. ... Highly recommend going as lightweight as possible when traveling. There’s just so much stuff to lug around when traveling with kids. We had the Cosco Scenera and recently moved up to the Cosco Finale with our big 3.5 yo.

  • Cosco Finale three-across and travel tips

You need 51" of rear hip room and the narrow base car seats. I fit 3 in the back of a Prius. The cosco finale for instance is 17" wide so will fit 3 across in most vehicles. I've currently got 3 across including a carseat with click in base in an e class. ... We used the Cosco Finale car seat (from Walmart) for travel around age 5 for my daughter. It’s the lightest weight and cheapest out there (but still fully tested and approved safety wise.) My youngest just outgrew the cosco scenera so he’ll be using the finale our next trip. ... We looked into a number of options and now have 2 of the Cosco Scenera Finale carseats. Super lightweight, converts to a booster style when they can use a traditional seatbelt. Bought a couple of Gorilla Grip car seat bags.

Cosco Finale car seat clearance at Walmart. Just grabbed one for $35, can't beat that price. Perfect as a spare for grandma's car.

  • Comfort issues with Cosco Finale for long rides

Looking for an extra seat for carpool. Thinking about the Cosco Finale DX because it's narrow and cheap, but I heard the padding is minimal and kids complain about it being uncomfortable after a while. Anyone have experience with how it holds up for daily use?
