Beautiful crib
I bought the Synergy crib in natural a few years ago and it has held up well with plenty of use. I loved it, the crib was easy to put together and the style and the natural color were so beautiful with my boho decor.
It guards!!
The other parent (Nina) who put one star review, needs to check what she did wrong in her set up. Her picture clearly shows the bed is not in the last screws to the bottom (made for a growing child, like a toddler!!) The rail does its job and is high enough if bed is in the lowest position. So that's a false review of the product, and more correct on the parents misinformation. The only con i have about the rail is i wish it was a few inches longer. My child loves to sleep all over the place so sometimes i worry about her falling off... But at least not too far down. Pro: this crib is 5 years old lasted through 3 moves and I'm certain the rail is just as reliable.
Reddit Insights
5 threads · r/NewParents, r/BabyBumps, r/BabyBumpsCanada, r/beyondthebump, r/dadditReddit parents generally agree that Dream On Me convertible cribs are a good budget-friendly option, but many are frustrated that the required toddler guard rail is sold separately and can be hard to find for specific models.
Positive about the cribs' value and durability, but negative about the separate guard rail purchase and compatibility issues. Overall slightly positive leaning due to crib satisfaction.

Watch Out For
Community Q&A
- Do I need to buy the toddler guard rail separately?
- Yes, it is sold separately for $30-$50, and some users waited months for it to be in stock.
- Will the universal guard rail fit my Dream On Me crib?
- Not necessarily—some models like the Ashton may require specific rails, and measurements or customer support contact is advised.
- Is the Dream On Me crib good quality?
- Mostly yes—solid wood, holds up well, easy to assemble, though some note it's not heirloom quality.
Compared To
vs Babyletto Hudson
Babyletto models include the guard rail, unlike Dream On Me which sells it separately, making Babyletto a simpler though costlier option.
vs IKEA cribs
Dream On Me considered a step up from IKEA in style, but IKEA includes conversion components in some models.

Separate guard rail purchase frustration and alternative like Babyletto
Wanted to chime in with a suggestion for anyone who hasn't purchased yet: Babyletto Hudson! It converts to a toddler bed and the rail is included. I got mine at Target and used a coupon. While a budget option is always nice, with the guard rail being sold separately and costing $30-50 + shipping, it might even out. We really love ours. Just food for thought!

Comparison between IKEA and Dream On Me with separate rail note
We are considering the Dream On Me Synergy 5-in-1 Convertible Crib. Anyone have it? How is the quality? We currently have an IKEA crib and don't like the quality.

Concerns about separate rail purchase and crib longevity
For convertible cribs, the biggest 'scam' is the separate conversion kits, especially the toddler rails. My cousin had a Dream On Me crib and couldn't find the rail for months. I'd rather buy a dedicated toddler bed or a crib that includes everything.

Positive experience with Dream On Me crib quality and separate rail
We have the Dream On Me Ashton 5-in-1 and love it. We paid about $200. The quality is nice for the price and we've had no issues. You do have to buy the toddler rail separately, but it was about $40. Easy to install.

Confusion over guard rail necessity and compatibility
I'm looking at my daughter's Dream On Me crib right now and I don't see how the guard rail attaches. It doesn't look like there are any pre-drilled holes. Maybe I need a different part? Can someone explain?
