I love that there are 2 different seats that fit the one frame. I’m a huge fan of convertible baby gear. I really like the neutral tones and the design is sleek. At first I thought the fabric was a beige heathered jersey fabric but it’s a synthetic fabric with a printed design. Initially I didn’t like that but now I realize it doesn’t heat up my baby’s back and is much easier to wipe clean. It also keeps its shape and doesn’t stretch out. \n     My baby is 4 month old so he can almost use all 4 modes of the seat.  When he’s just relaxing, I have it reclined in the infant bouncer mode. When he’s a little more active, I attach an activity bar and change the height to the kid chair with the belt. Even my toddler liked to sit in the chair that way.\n     My baby has started wanting to lift his head and sit instead of lying flat in a reclined chair so I have sat him in the floor chair briefly and he seemed to enjoy that. I like the little tray it comes with to hold some toys or snacks when baby will be old enough for that. My baby will soon be ready for the jumper mode and I like that it’s included in this seat because typical baby jumpers take up so much space, but this all-in-one bouncer is so compact and it folds pretty slim. \nIt is sometimes tough to change the height on the seat because I have to press both buttons on each side and don’t always have both hands free. That was my go to brand when my boys were little. Naturally when I recently became a Foster Mom to a sweet newborn girl I immediately turned to Graco to find the gear I'd need for her. \nAs soon as I found the Graco JumpStart 4-in-1 Activity Bouncer I thought it was the perfect all-in-one, compact solution to our baby needs. I immediately contacted Child Services for an approval to purchase the seat, as the item they would assist with financially, since it is a bit pricey. Within minutes of getting the approval I purchased the seat and submitted my receipt to Child Services.\nI was thrilled when the bouncer arrived. It went together extremely easily. I loved that no tools were needed, and it was ready to use within minutes of taking it out of the box. I loved that it does fold flat to store. It's a bit bigger than I expected and it's my fault for not reading details better but I didn't realize the seats have to be switched out. So it all doesn't store as one solid piece. But not a deal breaker as neither seat attachment is very big. It's just a little inconvenient if you want to switch back and forth between the bouncer and seat mode very much.\nHowever, my excitement quickly faded as I began using the item. Baby is tiny (now 3 months and only 10-11lbs). We started with the bouncer in position 2. First off... I love that the seatbelt cover goes all the way across baby, so it's not just exposed straps. Unfortunately though the seatbelt in the tightest position is still huge. The straps can extend tremendously to accommodate a larger baby (which would be pointless since the weight capacity doesn't match that), but it does not go small enough to hold a smaller baby in snuggly. Secondly... Her minimal weight (10lbs) was enough to fully compress the piston type suspension and she looked to be practically laying on the floor. We went ahead and put it into position 1, which did raise her up to a more normal bouncer angle, but the pistons were still completely compressed. No matter how hard baby kicks her feet the seat barely moves. The only way to get a half-way decent bounce from the seat is to sit there and lift up and down on it. Don't lift up and let go though, because it will just drop down quickly with an abrupt stop at the end scaring the baby. \nYet another drawback to the seat is: There are no vibrations, sounds, toy bars, etc to help soothe or entertain baby. \nWe tried the sit me up seat mode since she has great head control for a baby her age. She loves sitting up and looking at everything around her, so the seat was nice for a short period. Again, there are no soothing/entertainment features to this seat at all, so she quickly became frustrated. I tried suction toys on the tray, but the tray is so small the suction base of the toys, we had, were all too big. You need extremely small bases on suction toys for them to fit. I tried propping up other toys, but by this time it was a lost cause. \nWe tried out the jumper mode with a friend's baby and if you're like us and are hoping for typical jumper action you're not going to get that from this seat. The piston again instantly compressed until baby straighted her legs, taking weight off. She has a typical jumper at home, so she started jumping and was not happy with the result. She jumped up and instead of gradually going up and gently coming down to jump again, she pretty much just jumped up to crash down to a dead stop as the piston compressed all the way to an abrupt stop, which she did not like at all. She stood there a minute seeming confused and tried again. Each attempt resulting in the same disappointed seated crash, with no \"springy\" action. She quickly wanted out of the seat to jump in our arms with the smooth up and down motion she expected from being held or from a typical jumper. \nAll-in-all I wish I would have researched this seat more before purchasing. I've only had the seat for 3 days, and haven't even had a chance to be reimbursed by child services and already regret purchasing it. For costing $150 and being  a Graco product I was really expecting sooooo much more!! I have now done to realize most of the reviews of the product are from people who received it free, so probably not as big if a deal for them since they weren't searching for the right seat and value for their money. This omission significantly detracted from its functionality, especially considering the importance of soothing motions for infants. It only moves if you sit near the seat and lift it up and down. (or maybe it's just not made for chunky babies) \n\nOn a positive note, the fabric is neutral in color and cleans very quickly, which is a practical feature given the inevitable messes that come with babies and toddlers. The concept of a floor seat is appealing to me and potentially useful, so I love the idea of being able to transition to that as soon as the baby is old enough.
