It's a pricey hit and miss so I'd recommend secondhand (they are listed a lot because not all babies like them). My first hated it... My little guy now doesn't mind it - he'll chill in it and if he's already asleep when I put him in it he'll generally stay asleep. We're having some well known mechanical issues with it though and I'm not super impressed considering the price.

Mamaroo vs traditional swing experience
The only thing to keep in mind is that it isn't really equivalent to a swing. It's a different kind of motion, smoother and not traditional rocking back and forth... I wasn't a fan personally of the way it robotically moved baby around. Weird and not the kind of motion either of my two like haha. BUT! Your baby could very well love it. Maybe you could look into used so you're not out a ton of money if it doesn't work for your LO?

Mamaroo vs Baby Bjorn bouncer practicality
Both serve 2 very different purposes! Definitely do both if you can! You won't be able to haul the swing around the house like you can a bouncer! ... I went with just an automatic bouncer for my last baby and don't regret it one bit. I chose not to get a swing because they take up a fair amount of space and are not easily moved. ... Some babies a swing is an absolutely must for sanity sake, others like mine we were happy with a bouncer and chillin on play/activity mats on the floor.
