In my opinion, no you should not splurge on a mamaroo. One of my kids loved it, the other hated it. As with most baby swings/bouncers, there's no guarantee your baby will enjoy being in it. You can likely find a wide range of secondhand swings on Facebook marketplace if you decide to give one a try, but that way you haven't spent a ton of money on it.

If you do get a Mamaroo second hand and it doesn't have a strap fastener, you can contact the company and they will send you one. There was a recall earlier this year because of the straps. It's only a concern if you have a mobile baby. — Another vote for second-hand! My baby liked it well enough, but we set her down it in without using any of the features just as often as with them (we actually never used the sound....). I did really like how adjustable it was though and that baby was usually sitting up high enough that she could still see around the room when lying in it. I would have never paid full price for new though.

UPPAbaby ownership and advice to wait before buying
Get the mamaroo, it used to be made by a company called 4moms but then UPPAbaby bought the company. Either way the mamaroo is great. — I’d wait until baby is here so you have time to return if they don’t like it. Mine loved the ergo bouncer (like the baby bjorn) and HATED the mamaroo.
