Watch Out For
Community Q&A
- Is the Wayb Pico worth the high price?
- Only if you travel very frequently by plane or rideshare and prioritize portability over comfort and longevity.
- Can it be used on airplanes?
- Yes, it's FAA-approved and fits most airline seats, but some non-US carriers may not allow it for takeoff/landing.
Compared To
vs Cosco Scenera Next
Cosco is cheaper and allows rear-facing, but heavier and less portable. Pico wins on portability, Cosco on comfort and price.
vs Ride Safer Travel Vest
Vest is more compact for older kids but less protective; Pico offers a full seat but with a short height/weight limit.

Portability praised but crotch strap criticized
We have a pico and it’s been great. Our kids are small giants. Can confirm the crotch strap is awful and makes it smaller/harder than it should be. For the 2-5 crowd, the WayB Pico (FF only) is really nice. Also light, though you’ll want the backpack that’s another $80+ to store it if you’re going through airports. Kind of a B to install, but really compact and nice.

Alternative carry bag options shared
I know a lot of people buy third-party bags for the Pico. I found some links: This duffel bag works, or you can get a cheap backpack from Amazon. The official bag is overpriced.

Airline approvals vary; seat comfortable for toddler
We flew internationally with the Wayb Pico... The only plane that did not allow it was Air Corsica. They told us that our 2 year old needed to be in a regular seat with just the lap belt for takeoff and landing but we could use the travel car seat in the air, so that’s what we did. We found it to be much better for our toddler to use a travel car seat in the air because then she wasn’t wiggling around.

Successfully used across multiple countries
We took our Wayb Pico to 5 countries in Europe and it was a lifesaver. It fit in the overhead bin on every flight, and we used it in rental cars via ISOFIX. Light enough to carry through airports with the backpack. My 3-year-old slept in it, though not as plush as our home seat.

Worth it for frequent flyers despite cost
I balked at the price but we fly every month and the Wayb Pico is the best money we’ve spent. So easy in Ubers. But the crotch buckle is short, my son complained, and he’ll outgrow it soon.
