The Owlet literally saved my daughter's life. She had RSV at 6 weeks and her oxygen dropped into the 70s. The alarm went off, we rushed her to the ER, and she was admitted for a week. I will forever recommend this to every parent.

The older version isn't recalled; they just had to stop selling it because of FDA regulations. The Dream Sock is basically the same but FDA cleared. It doesn't show live O2 though, just an average. I prefer the old one because it alerts you if something drops.

Owlet sock worth the money for peace of mind
I bought it with my first and it was worth every cent. When my son had bronchiolitis, it alerted us to his low oxygen and we were in hospital within an hour. It saved his life. You can't put a price on that.

Mixed opinions on Owlet Dream Sock
I'm 4 weeks into using the Owlet and honestly I'm still indifferent. I won't live in fear of SIDS, so most nights it feels pointless. But on the flip side, I do sleep extra peacefully knowing that if she were to stop breathing I would be alerted. Her foot was too small at first so we got false alarms. Long story short: if you have the money, it's probably nice to have. If you're tight, you don't need it.

Which Owlet Dream Sock is the right one?
I'd recommend the Dream Sock over the old one because it's FDA approved. But be aware that it doesn't give you live readings, and I've heard it doesn't alert you if O2 drops. The old app is no longer available, so if you buy a used Smart Sock 3 you might not be able to set it up.
