Watch Out For
Community Q&A
- Is the Chicco GoFit comfortable for long rides?
- Yes, many parents report it's padded and comfortable, and their kids have no complaints.
- Do I need the LATCH version (GoFit Plus)?
- Not necessary for a backless booster, but it prevents the seat from becoming a projectile when unoccupied. Standard GoFit is fine if you move it often.
- Is the Chicco GoFit narrow enough for three-across?
- Yes, its 17-inch width and fold-away cup holders make it a good choice for three-across setups.
- How does the Shark (Cleartex) fabric feel?
- Mixed reviews; some find it soft, others say it's slippery and irritates the back of legs. Consider the standard fabric if concerned.
Compared To
vs Chicco KidFit
The GoFit is a backless-only booster, while the KidFit is a highback/backless combo. Users consider the GoFit as a secondary or travel seat but prefer the KidFit for primary use due to the highback.
vs Cosco Top Side (Walmart booster)
The GoFit offers better padding, cup holders, and a smoother underside compared to basic budget boosters, but costs more. Some parents use the Cosco for its simplicity.
vs Graco TurboBooster
Both are recommended, but the GoFit is noted as a compact backless option, while the TurboBooster is often a highback. Users pick GoFit for small cars and portability.

CPST discussion on Chicco GoFit Cleartex comfort and fabric concerns
We have the regular GoFit, not the Cleartex, so I can't comment on that, but we've been happy with the GoFit overall. The seat pad isn't super plush, but my kid doesn't complain. For the Cleartex, I've read that it can be slippery—kids sliding forward in the seat—and that it can leave marks on the back of their legs if they wear shorts.

Parenting thread recommendation for easy-to-use booster
We have the Chicco GoFit backless booster. It's light, easy to move, and does a great job positioning the belt. My 6-year-old finds it comfortable.

Preschoolers thread highlighting GoFit comfort and portability
We have the Chicco GoFit for my 5-year-old and he loves it. Says it's comfortable, and he likes the cup holders. I love that it's so lightweight and has a carry handle—perfect for carpooling and switching between cars.

Kindergarten thread suggesting GoFit for small cars and three-across
I recommend the Chicco GoFit. It's narrow, so it fits three across in my car, and it's only 5 lbs. My daughter says it's comfy, and the belt fit is great. We've been using it for almost a year.
