Compared To
vs Cosco Scenera Next
Ellaris offers a no-rethread harness and higher weight limits, but Scenera Next is lighter and potentially easier to install; both are popular for travel.
vs Graco Extend2Fit
Ellaris is much cheaper and lighter, but Graco offers extended rear-facing, easier installation, and better padding.

Mixed feedback on Safety 1st All-in-One including Ellaris
I have the Safety 1st Grow and Go, which is similar. It's fine for the price but installing it rear-facing is a nightmare. The recline is terrible for infants—my baby's head flopped forward. It's also really flimsy. I'd only recommend it for a travel seat or for older kids forward-facing.

Ellaris recommended as budget travel seat over Scenera Next
I'd go with the Safety 1st Ellaris over the Scenera Next. It's still lightweight (12 lbs), FAA approved, and has a no-rethread harness which is really nice when you're traveling. Plus it's cheap. I got mine for $80. It's not the most plush seat, but it works.

User rejects Ellaris due to installation and newborn recline issues
I considered the Ellaris because of the price, but after reading reviews about how hard it is to install and that the recline isn't enough for a newborn, I skipped it. We got the Evenflo Revolve360 instead and it's worth every penny.

Ellaris preferred over Baby Trend Trooper for travel
Between the Trooper and the Ellaris, go with the Safety 1st. The Ellaris is lighter, has a no-rethread harness, and is FAA approved. The Trooper is a pain to install with the seatbelt. Ellaris is a solid budget travel seat.
