Not loving it

Syd

I bought this car seat after going back and forth between an all in one or this 2 in 1. I really liked that this carseat was ultra light for travel but the installation is actually pretty difficult and the seat does not seem to sit very 'secure' once installed in the vehicle. The chest clip does not stay in place at all & the straps are much too short/tight with little room for adjustment. Overall I am not loving this car seat for my little one.

Decent product but not perfect

Dlprh3

This product was provided to me for free for a review. I'm the person who does hours of research prior to purchasing a new seat. For a budget friendly seat this seat meets most of my important items. It does seem slightly flimsy and i struggle to get it snug in the seat. Weight and height restrictions are comparable to other brands. It is very light weight which if nice if you plan to move it often. Overall i would recommend if the friend needed a budget friendly option.

The straps for the car seat is horrible for my son

Moe

I would not purchase if I haven't realized that the straps are too tight! You cannot make them stretch longer. Great price for a maxi cosi! But not worth the money! My son legs are so squeezed tight within the buckle that it makes him so uncomfortable to be in! Please do not purchase! Not great for any child.

Perfect travel companion

DJ_intrinsic

We were kind of annoyed lugging around a 20lb car seat every time we traveled. But then we discovered the Romi. This super lightweight car seat is perfect for traveling families who fly. Easy to carry and comfortable enough to get from the airport to your destination without any discomfort to you or your little one. The seat is also approved for airline use so you can be assured that there will be no problem bringing it aboard.

So tight on the legs

Kk

it is does not work for our son whatsoever. He is not a big kid, and the straps on his legs are so tight that they bruise him. We have tried adjusting it in so many different ways and ultimately cannot get him comfortable. I think it is due to the buckle being so far back and not having any slack. Anyway, I do not recommend this product. There is no way it can fit a 40 lbs child if it doesn't fit my 27 lbs son.

Very light but comfortable!

I received the Romi Convertible Car Seat in exchange for my honest review. I like that this car seat had no bright prints or characters on it. The black looks sleek. The seat isn't overly padded but my child is comfortable in it for even long rides. This car seat is excellent for travel since it is so light weight. It was easy to bring through the airport. Install in the car is simple too.

The Perfect Travel Companion, Wonderfully Simple Carseat

All hippy dippy

This carseat doesn't have any fancy bells and whistles because It's not overly complicated, it's perfectly simple. Fast and easy to install (forward or rear facing), it's a great carseat to have for travel or switching cars a lot. It's the lightest carseat I've ever seen, without being $400+ and feeling super flimsy! This honey is sturdy, super easy to clean, feels safe, very affordable and the best travel companion. My toddler dumps food and gets sand all over this and it is so easy to shake off or remove the cover to throw in the wash. Easiest carseat I have ever cleaned! I keep this carseat in my husband's truck, and our "fancier" maxi cosi pria in my mini van, but whenever we travel or go in a friend's car we always use the Romi because it's so light weight, more compact than a typical toddler car seat, and easy to transfer/install! About to buy another one for baby #2 because this is the best car seat ever!

Great convertible seat

MommaPx4

We loved this car seat. It was easy to install with the included directions. It seemed comfortable for our toddler, and has good protection. Luckily we haven't had to clean it other than a quick vacuum out but it seems easy to clean. I have already recommended this one to a few friends who are expecting babies.

Super convenient car seat!

Kate

I love how lightweight this car seat is, making it super easy for traveling. If you need to take a flight this is the most convenient car seat for air travel. The strap makes it super easy to carry on your back!

Lightweight & Comfy

Janet

I love how easy this car seat fits in my car and how lightweight it is for traveling and taking on the airplane and a huge plus is that my daughter is comfortable in it.

Lightweight!

Angie

Love how lightweight the car seat is! It's also certified to use on aircraft, can't wait to use it for travel !

My baby didn't sleep in a car seat until this one

Steph

This car seat is so comfortable my baby just chills in it like she NEVER has before in her old one! And since we're big on traveling it's been so nice have to her take naps on the go and this car seat is just so comfy it's easier for her to sleep. Some fun features like the cup holder and headrest pillow too! I love this seat!

Well made and high quality

Chris C

We've been using this baby seat for our little boy for a few weeks and its everything we need in a car seat. Its made of high quality materials and very sturdy. However it's not as heavy as it looks and we're able to move and maneuver it easily. The straps are very soft and comfortable for the baby too. I am very happy with the seat and would not hesitate to recommend it to friends and family.

My baby loves this car seat and so do I!

I was so excited to receive this Romi car seat, just in time for our trip to Hawaii with our 6 month old. It's super lightweight and so easy to travel with. Plus, it's easy to install and my baby loves it! He kicks his little legs in there and the seat is both comfy and safe. Affordable, too!

We love our Romi Car Seat!

Adjustable height and storage basket!

We just transferred our 11 month old to this car seat and she is loving it! (So are we!) It's so roomy and comfortable for her. We love how lightweight it is and how we can easily take it out when we need to clean our minivan or transfer the seat to our second vehicle.

Best Car Seat For Your Toddler Must Buy

Styleditxgemma

I love this for my toddler because I can take this car seat anywhere it's easy to carry . I can easily switch it from one car to another , take it on a plane even! It's perfect if your on the go and so easy to install.

LIGHT AND AMAZING

Taylor

So amazing! We love this car seat! We had it for our son and now our daughter. Having it be so lightweight is the biggest plus. Car seats can be SO heavy and this one is incredible for travel! Highly recommend!

Great Travel Seat, But Fabric Lacks Durability

Mreis

This is my second Maxi-Cosi seat (I also own the Emerald Pro), and the Romi does exactly what you want from a travel car seat, it’s lightweight and very easy to install. My only downside is the fabric. It’s soft and comfortable, but not very durable. Which is disappointing since we travel often and I was hoping for something more hard-wearing long term. Overall, it’s a great option for travel, but I wouldn’t recommend it as an everyday car seat.

The weight is right but the rest isn't.

Maxxxx179

I purchased the Romi for a up coming 6 hour flight to Seattle my troller in and for the car rental. Found a good number of reviews that recommended as super light weight and great for traveling. My honest opinion after a solid week of use is I wouldn't use this car seat. Yes, it is very light weight, but the positioning of the opening for the car seat belt is terrible. When in the rear facing position when strapping in my kid, it would dip down. And this was after repositioning the car seat belt a number of times. No confidence it would be in any type of semi fixed position in a crash. The tightening scrap was constantly getting stuck in both directions. If your taking this for a flight, it will more than likely only for in the forward direction, as rear facing the seat is right up against the seat in front. Also, the aircraft seat belt buckle will sit under your childs lower back when tight, not a good feeling. Honestly, I can't recommended the Romi. Yes, it is cheap and light weight, but that's the only good things.

I wouldn't but for toddler only infant

I'm not able to adjust straps even though it says I can

  • Travel seat recommendations and comparisons

Oh yeah I had the older version of the Maxi Cosi Romi and really liked it as a lightweight travel seat. Installed easily, very small, and easy to carry. I think there’s a new version called the Romi 2-in-1. It looks slightly bigger (9 lbs instead of 7.8), but still very light. If you want flame retardant free and lightweight, still probably a good bet. People compare it to the Cosco Scenera NEXT since they're both from Dorel and very similar. The Maxi Cosi has nicer fabric and is flame retardant free, which the Cosco is not.

  • Harness adjustment issues but overall approved

We have the Maxi Cosi Romi in our second car and use it for travel. The pull strap to adjust the harnesses is a pain and doesn't glide well. But it is tolerable since it's not our every day car seat. Super light and easy to move. It’s one of the narrowest seats we could find for our small car.

  • Mom-shamed for using Maxi-Cosi

My MIL keeps saying I'm putting my baby in danger by using a Maxi Cosi. She thinks only Graco is safe. I told her they all pass the same safety standards. I love our Romi because it’s so light and easy to install in grandma’s car when she watches him.

  • Convertible car seat recommendation for travel

I’m looking at the Maxi Cosi Romi for air travel because it’s lightweight and FAA approved. I heard it doesn't have a base and the fabric is nice and free of flame retardants. My only concern is if it's comfortable enough for long trips.
